So what has been your panic experience with the virus?

Today while taking my time in the grocery store at 7:30 am strolling through a section not marked which way to go, I stopped dead in my tracks while reading my list.

Behind me stops a woman her well thought out 6 feet and I hear the most noticeable sound from the screech of tennis shoes like on a basketball court.

As I turn around the woman from behind her mask loudly tells me to GO GO and points for me to get out of her way.

While standing my ground being in an un marked walkway I point behind her and say: I am going that way.

With fire coming from her eyes, burning rubber from her tennis shoes, a mumble from beneath the mask, and now a tuck of her chin, she high tales it past me.

A definition of Panic: sudden uncontrollable fear or anxiety, often causing wildly unthinking behavior.

Yep that was her.

Well some people can't stand to wait. They'll be like us someday. I kept telling my Mother she needed a hearing aid. Well pay back time is here. I need one now!

Sounds like Sue's alot better. You've been good to stay with her, most men wouldn't be that attentive. Have a wonderful fishing trip.

Born in 1941. Pretty naive growing up. After graduation in 1959 starting slipping & buying cigarettes out of a machine. I think they were a quarter. Early 60s decided I wanted to buy a car as I was working for the VA.
Was going to buy a used car & an uncle on my Dad's side said, there's a car that hasn't been put on the lot yet. He took me into this garage at the car lot & it was a 57 chevy. Well, I always liked the looks of the 57 Ford. Ended up going to the Ford car lot & bought a 1964 Ford Galaxy XL. 390. I thought it looked like the fastest one on the lot & after I got inside and paid for it $2,800, I noticed one just like mine that was a 425 engine. It's a good thing I hadn't seen that first. I would have gotten about 8 miles to the gallon.
Later on when I met my future husband, he told me I needed a cam & solid lifters. Well I took it back to the Ford place & told them I needed a cam & solid lifters. He said, you'll blow that car up. I said I'm not going to race it at the drag strip, but I wanted it to race from light from light downtown. If you pulled up beside someone & they rushed their motor, that was the sign. Ha
Then later on paid another auto shop to put side pipes down both sides. I'd take the ends off when I'd get on a country road & loved that powerful noise. Then decided to go back to the Ford place & have studio sonic sound put in - then went to another auto place & had a 45 record player put in. It held 8 45s. After I got married my husband used the car to go to work in & it was downhill after that for the 64 Ford. He finally blew the motor up in it. Of course, I wasn't working & getting ready to have a baby.
In a way, I wish it was still around. If I could have afforded it, I'd have everything redone & take it to car shows.
Also remember my husband told me when Marlboro Cigarettes went up to $l.00 a pack, he was going to quit. Well he kept his word. He quit smoking but not drinking.
P.S. Still have the record player from the 64 Ford in my attic.

I fish alone - don't know anyone who cares about it. But I don't mind at all being alone. I live alone after my husband died - like that too.
The only time, I'd like to fish with someone would be if I caught a nice bass & they would take the picture. I don't know how to do that yet.

Can't imagine okra pancakes. Now cornmeal pancakes I could. Alot of times I cut up onion & hot peppers in corn meal pancakes batter, then fry on stove. Pass the bean soup, fried potatoes, and fried cabbage also.
Talking about pancakes, my husband put peanut butter on with the syrup & butter. I laughed till I tried it.

I always get it when I go to Captain D's. It is fried, but the home cooked fried is better.

I first posted this as a comment to another post, but after giving it more thought, decided that the warning should have a larger audience. I believe the original post on Fishing Forum was called Decisions, Decisions, and was about whether a man would, should, choose a high maintenance model, or fish every day. I am now relating a true story that actually happened. This story I am going to tell is not the only one that I have known, but one I just have the most details.

Another broker who was a partner, associate, and close friend related this sad story on a day by day basis, blow by blow account of what happened to his father who had been recently widowed. His father had been a remarkably successful stockbroker for a number of years and had recently retired and was now living alone in condominium alongside a private golf course and was a member of that club. He also continued to hold membership in a private club downtown.

To help him, the father hired a young attractive housekeeper to cook his meals and maintain his residence for him. It was not long before his son noticed that this young woman was beginning to have an ever-increasing influence on his father. He warned his dad to be careful and be aware of her possible intentions.

I never learned whether the father was an alcoholic, but he did love his scotch. His young housekeeper would meet him at the door with a drink, pamper him with his favorite meals, and in every way made him enjoy life. I do not know whether they were sleeping together, or not, but within a year they were married.

Not only were they married but she convinced the father to make her the sole beneficiary of all his assets and property. Not long after the father dies, whether from natural causes, or not. She collects his life insurance, all his brokerage account assets, sold the condominium and disappeared with her real lover. All of which appeared to have been a planned operation from the beginning.

Now, on the one hand, the father appeared to get what he wanted and died a happy man. On the other hand, while his children were not in any need to inherit his estate, the appearances would strongly indicate he had been the victim of a plan by a cunning female who played him and his ego like a violin. No doubt she snooped and read his mail including his brokerage statements and learned what his approximate estate was worth. She then seduced him into a marital relationship for the sole purpose of capturing his estate.

Stop and think, how difficult would it be for an attractive young woman to capture an old man’s attention and affection. He was gulled into thinking she was truly interested in him. No fool like an old fool! The flowers on his grave had probably not wilted before she lined up her next conquest! How easy it is to reel in a sucker! Just Sayin…RJS

He should have told her that his children would inherit his estate and see how much longer she would have stayed. Maybe that could be a test to see if she really loved him.

No matter where my travels take me I always get asked, "What do I need to do to catch bass on my home lake." Well, the answer is simple. Quit that job. That cuts into a man's or lady's fishing time more than anything. Get rid of that job and go fishing!

Seriously, bass fishing, like most every other endeavor, can be extremely simple or really complex and technical. If you're new to bass fishing, or fishing in general, a stroll through the fishing department at a big box outdoor store can be overwhelming. It is tough to know what to gear to buy to catch fish on the lake you plan to fish.

Hopefully the below information can be put to good use, and you'll discover, just as I and hundreds of thousands of other people have, how fun and enjoyable fishing can be.

Well it is hot here in WV and I was wondering also if the bass are still spawning. They had the spillway part of Beech Fork Lake closed - but the main lake was open, and last year I caught 4 fish in one day. That's alot for me. If it isn't raining hard may drive out to lake one day this week and see if spillway is open yet.

Wow MS that's something. My Mom turns 92 on Wed. She is still pretty sharp but is more frail. Still gets around without a walker and has most all her teeth so she's doin great for 92. I Skype with her usually twice a day. Once around noon or so and the other bout 10 pm to say good night. Have done that for a few years now. I'll miss that when she's gone. Among other things of course.

My Mother passed away with all of her teeth. She always kept her doctor & dentist appointments. She was almost 94 (within 10 days) and had her teeth. The dentist said she had strong teeth. I know her height had shrunk from 5' 8in to about 5' 5in with osteoparosis. But it never affected her teeth which I could never understand.

So sorry to hear that MS. However, glad you can say you beat it and it's been nearly another 40 years.
On a lighter note, as we say in catchin fish, "One's better than none." Glad you're better now.
You goin to make it to the Meet and Greet next May?

No, because I have no sense of direction. Always was like that. Guess I'll stay put in WV. But sure wish I could find a place around here where I could go fishing. I've probably been out 5 times this year and not even a bite. I could probably catch catfish, but trying for bass. I may try some panfish or bluegill fishing.
