Seems like the striper migration is still going on even though it’s cold out there.
Reading reports from seaside nj, grumpys tackle and Betty and nicks it seems like the fish are still there but the fishermen are not. I had planned on going today but aches got in the way.
Tight lines!

Great article listed above.
I’m not sure I’d be comfortable kayaking near gators. Puts me too close to the water and maybe teeth!

I lived near Everglades for 18 months years ago. I found that gators don’t attack boats unless you’re dragging food ( fish on a stringer). Just stay in the boat and don’t do anything to aggravate them.
Have fun fishing!

Lots of small towns with kayak oriented ramps on the eastern shore starting around pocomoke md all the way to the bay bridge tunnel. I’d consider checking with town managers to see if they could connect you with friendly folks who might host you along the way.
For fishing Virginia I’ve been luck with gulp minnows chartreuse or white on small bucktails.
Keep us informed about your trip . Goodmluci

I agree with billbyrd about having it checked out by a mechanic. Get a compression test done and check the boat for stress cracks.

My favorite spot is island beach state park near lavalette nj
I like the park cause they have bathroom facilities at the entrance to clean up after a day of fishing.
Plus there’s miles of unspoiled beach .
The first cutoff after the gate leads to a piece of beach that has worked for me in the past.
Good luck out there.

Looking at the fishing reports from grumpy bait and tackle near island beach state park.
He says the fall striper run has started in earnest. He says there’s a lot more fish further north.
Time to dig out the waders and korkers and catch some!

I think the area around the Delaware water gap in the poconos might work for you Just my opinion

Welcome to the forum
I also fish Virginia’s eastern shore near cape Charles
Not much info out there from fishermen in the area. Even tackle shops are thin on reports
When I fish I’ll always post a report
Tight lines !

I’ve fished the party boats out of Point Loma near San Diego.
Catching different fish based on the time of year.
Clean boats with fresh bait.

I’ve been following the local reports and it seems like the water temps are still maybe a bit high. I always
Read where as the water cools to about 55 degrees the schools of baitfish leave the back waters into the ocean and that triggers the striper fishing .
I have read that some of the boats out of belmar nj did well a week or 2 ago catching 50 lb bass.

To widen your fishing horizon grab a surf rod and fish cape May or cape May point about an hour away for you and stripers will be near the surf line
