We have a Dicks store here in Charleston W.V. who cares what they do? I just drive on by. Lol.
Me myself would go with a light rod maybe 5ft. Light action. 6lb line. Then save up for something heavier for the Bass and Catfish. Something like 6ft. Medium 12lb line. Some of these combos are good deals. It dont have to cost alot to to be good. I trout fish in west Virginia mountains with 4ft light rod. 4lb. Line Zebco 33. Love it. I mainly trout fish with bait.
Find a local that you can call and check conditions. Like a store maybe. Has worked for me before.
Get the better reel,or you'll end up with both. Just saying. You will save in the long run!
That is great. My Grandson is 3 He's caught some Bluegills. Gonna take him Trout fishing soon. There's nothing like it.
