Hey everybody. My first post. I'm mainly a Trout Fisherman. Mountain streams in West Virginia. Been Kayaking with my Wife lately. Trying to learn Bass fishing with lures in lakes here in W.V. I have alot to learn. Lol. But I'm trying. Good fishing to all.
Welcome to the fourm keep on practiceing youll get the hang of it.good luck to you
Welcome, I'm new here also. different tricks for you for bass. Take a Jitter bug, black or green and put a knot for a stopper about a foot from the end. Put some split shot sinkers above the knot. Enough the it pulls the Jitterbug under. use a slow retrieve with it, It will act like a from swimming with its head down.
Also rattle traps with a fast retrieve. As fast as you can with out it breaking the surface.work a quadrant in 20-30 degree steps. Do it three times. Nothing move to the next quadrant. If still nothing move over and try again. This way you are trying to make the bass mad. Fish bite because they are hungry or mad. You are trying to make them mad with the rattle trap. I would keep the rod tip low when doing this.

You may want to narrow down what lakes you are fishing in. Could be some folks in your area that will let you know a little better what's working. Nice going with getting the wife interested especially with kayaking. My wife just gets the stories when I come home after a day of kayaking.

Thanks palumbob. My wife got me kayaking! Lol. I like boats more. But we both like to fish. Broke the ice the other day. Caught 3 large mouth. All keepers. But I release all my fish. Except trout of course. Keep just enough to eat.
