Can anyone remember back when going fishing was having a basic a simple no frills reel, a plastic bobber that never stayed put, a cheep hook. and even cheeper line. You walked to any stream or pond with some backyard worms or stale bread, and catch a blue gill Ah the thrill of the fight.

Now it's intense courses lasting over an hour, on how to:
Set up and use a not so cheep bait caster,
Seminars on fishing tactics that are semi commercials,
Matching lines, rods and reels and loops fish,
A several hour course on how to set up how to push the right buttons and interpret your almost 2K fishing finder does it come with a PHD at end.
Special glasses to see the fish,
Magnifiers to be able to thread on your bobber stopper,
Hire or marry a porter to carry a 400lb tackle box loaded with gear you might use once,

And don't forget: fishing fashions, it's more important to look good than feel good.
Then the whole list of regulations, license, tags, countless no trespass signs and the yada yaddas go on and on.

Your simple 5 min trip on a spur of the moment to fish has turned into a major undertaking.

OH my writing this already made me tired....... Nap time

BUT GOTTA LOVE IT EHHHH?

I ponder if native Americans still send, into the wilds : naked unarmed, foodless and avoid human contact at all costs young men who trek alone for a long period time to be tested to become great spiritual leaders could it be the reality of BF

last week I saw what looked like 2 does in full panic mode run across the road in front of our car.. Then stop. one turned around only it didn't look full deer type. longesh pointed nose and they looked larger than any deer I have ever seen. Mind you I live in farm country in PA in Adams county. been hunting, some what seems a billion years Oh the deer where darker color than usual with a slightly lighter color rump and short tails, their snout was shorter and somewhat broader. Thought they looked elk like. Now in PA we have elk in a county that is about a 3 hr drive from where I saw them. And understand does stray away from a heard to drop their babies then rejoin the heard . But that far (think Not) Then called fish and game to find out about deer/ elk management farms they is one a hr away but say none escaped ??? Now fish and game are looking into zoos and private farms that may keep stuff like that illegally .

Now realize it would have helped if I had my camera but how many of u have one with you and see hardly nothing then leave it home and wham 8 mill are there..
I know there is stuff out there and just because of no proof we write it off

We don't have muskie or pike in the lake so will go with braided line say 20lb that I have. I plan to use live bait 2-3 feet behind the bouncer hellgrammites or minis.
I will also do a test, drifting with troller right down the center ditch Using a bouncer with live and or lure and down rigger with a lure at the same time. Let you all know those results when these weather conditions improve. That ditch is about 40-45 ft deep the rest of the lake is 2-20ft deep (man made) It's a fairly large lake. It's over 300 A with 5 coves great bass fishing. Oh and has a ton of docks and boat houses on it. Our assoc dues pay for stocking it as well. And it is spring fed. Pics to follow soon. Good thing about this is our ramps are open and its a semi gated community. Most fishermen on the lake catch and release. Know one resident that caught a near 4lb crappie and released it

I always felt we are here for a reason and things happen. We are just to stupid too understand why.
Perhaps it's Gods way of trying to bring us closer to reality and to him.
