Makes you wonder how “open” the beach is if you can’t park there or fish there. You could already drive by it and see it.
This reminds me of when I was a kid. One of the beaches we would cut school and go to near Malibu put up a sign that listed all the things that were prohibited. There was just enough room at the bottom of the sign that someone added: “No people, no fun.”.

I really did not see the point. They should have let us fish the surf but no parking cuts that out

If you pay big bucks to own a beach house you expect to use “your” beach. That’s probably why they’re open. As for the parking, it keeps the non-residents and po’ folks at bay.

In a town adjoining ours there is a Trout stocked lake that usually draws crowds early in the season. The town has banned all on-street parking, except 15 minutes in the business district. If you don’t live there, near the lake, ride a bike or take a mile hike with your gear, no fishing for you!

That’s just weird. Welcome to the forum, sorry I didn’t say that first. Nice boat. I’d be chomping at the bit to get that out fishing too. Good luck, can’t wait to see lots of pictures of your fish!

Good points Jim. I would wonder how if I paid that much money for a house on a beach, they would think they could “close” it to me.

That sucks. Hopefully this all passes soon and we get back to “normal”, alive and well.

Then what good is a beach if there’s no fishing. Do the fish have covid19 now?

I don’t think I’d count on “normal” any more. Those with sticky fingers and no compassion for anyone other than themselves are seeing a trend they’re liking. They have the position and power to make life hell on the rest of us and they’ve proved it once again. Probably never be the old “normal” again.

When I was a young airman back in 1985 , parking was limited you had to park a good ways away from
The squadron door . But right in front of the door there were signs the read ,
Squadron Commander
First Sargent
VIP
Honored Guest s
Now this really pissed off the enlisted guys who walked a good way s from
Their parking area .
So one morning I hear the commander yelling from the ops desk . So I run down to find out what’s going on . He’s screaming about heads being on a post or some bs . I look out the window to see a crowd gathering around the parking signs . I run out and there next to the first Sargent sign is a sign that read : AIRMAN INCARGE OF NOTHING !
I just thanked God somebody had the balls to do that!

In the days when there were Officers' Clubs, next to the Wing Commander's sign was 'any 2d Lt' sign.
