Actually hacksaw no I haven't installed an anchor trolley yet. I have an anchor with a rope that I attach to one of the side handles but in the future I will get the trolley system. I also plan on getting things like electronics, trolling motor and better electronics. But until then I just have to use what I have and save for my extremely long wish list of things I want.

I usually fish for Bass but I go all over Ohio to do so. I live about an hour and a half from Columbus so I tend to go there quite a bit but I have also fished off of lake Erie in Cleveland. I also enjoy fishing for cat fish and walleye.

No my kayak only sits one but my wife is getting herself a fishing kayak as well. She had fun in mine and wanted to get one if her own to just go out and paddle while I fish. She will fish out of hers from time to time but for the most part she will probably just go to enjoy being out on the water.

I promise it's Dew in that bottle... I wish I could say otherwise but the area I was in is heavily patrolled by The game warden and I didn't want to take the risk of getting a major fine on the maiden voyage. However a good fishing trip with my wife and lots of beer is definitely in my future. Beer will definitely be a must especially if I am going to bring my wife with me.

Lol Plumbob. I actually do have waterproof pants and boots I just didn't wear them. But yes my jeans did end up getting a little wet and cold that day. But I have to also take a second to defend Spirit. I just changed where I am from on my profile right after he said that so that wasn't his fault. But I do like the name you gave me for my kayak and I will definitely keep it in mind . Now let me return the favor and give you a name......( Straight Bob-in)

Hmmmm that's actually a really good one. As a guy who loves to play jokes on my wife I like the thought of using My Lady and making her think I am sweet talking her then going to my kayak. Before anyone freaks out I have been married to her for 15 years amd I do that kind of stuff to her all the time. She has a great sence of humor. Thanks for the idea Canuckus

I like it!!! Yes I am from Ohio but I from a small, one street light farm town in Ohio called Arlington. But I will definitely keep that name in mind for my kayak. Thank you for the idea Spirit!

I finally got to take my new kayak out for it's first voyage. No fish to report but I couldn't have been happier with the time spent on the water. But I want to have a little fun with all of you guys. An old man who is very close to me said I should name my boat ( even if it is a kayak). So I am going to let you guys pick the name of it. I am curious to see what everybody comes up with.

I have a Garmin Striker 4 and I am rather pleased with it. It cost more than $100 but definitely not a bank breaker either. I got mine brand new for my kayak and it cost me a little over $150 dollars. Easy to use and battery last forever! It's definitely one to keep in mind.

I have already loaded my kayak up with plenty of drinking water aka Miller lite.... Had to get on the FBI's most wanted list because I stole two rolls of toilet paper from was gas station.... I use my coat as a pillow and brought a heavy sleeping bag..... Now all I need is my rod and reel, tackle bag and fire starter and my self quarantine will be under way

Ojdidit... I agree with you 💯 and will most definitely take that information I have learned and apply it this weekend when I go fishing. Also I come from a strong military family having two grandfather's who served in WW2 and a few cousins who served as well. Plus my wife's side had several grandparents, uncles and cousins who served throughout the generations. I always take time out of my day to thank veterans who served so that I can enjoy my freedom. But it is always an honor to be reminded to thank a vet. To many people don't take the time to do that and take advantage of the freedoms they have due to the hard work and sacrifice that others have done for them.

I would like to take a second to tell all of you older gentleman and ladies ( if they happen to read this) that you guys are truly an inspiration. Even with all the physical problems that come with age you guys still find a way to get out (no matter what it takes) and still continue to do the thing you love to do. It really does make me smile to read about how you would rather be fishing than sitting at home due to a physical issue. Thank you for paving the way for us younger anglers and giving us the inspiration to continue to follow our passions. I am truly a blessed man to be able to be in the presence ( even via online) of all of you. So thank you.

Not at all. I have used mono, braid and floro but I never learned the best line for specific baits so I usually just put mono on my reels and use it. But I really want to learn the type of baits work best with those different types of line

As long as I can remember, fishing has always been a big passion of mine. It has literally saved my life and has gotten me through some tough times. It has been my meditation as well as my favorite hobby. I have learned a lot over the years fishing, but one thing I have not learned is how to select the proper line for the bait I am throwing. I usually throw a lot of jigs, traps and chatter baits. But I also like to push myself and throw things I usually don't such as soft plastics, spinner baits and jerk baits. How do I learn what kind of line to match with the bait I am throwing?
