Catch and release by the dam. Big rainbows.
Beats me... Trinity Lake in NorCal. Next to crappie, catfish is my favorite. I have a Hurricane 196 and need to learn the lake. So, thanks to all of you, this 70 year old retired National Park Ranger will definitely take your advice. Plumbers tape, heavier line and Spiderwire.
I’ll take the “digging in” if I can catch strong fish. Would 15# line work? I’m not concerned with price... what do you recommend?
Is it possible to use braided line on spinning reels, and if so what kind? I want to set one up for catfishing.
Can you use Power Pro braid wit spinning reels?
Autocorrect sucks ap, not so...

Now I’m convinced, I’m going to get my salmon “report card”. Beautiful fish.
Looks like a juvenile green sunfish, just wish they were around here.

Totally agree Seaborg! When I was a kid in New Mexico, game and fish wardens were super polite, but it seems that times have changed. I was a Park Ranger and it was my job to be polite... for the most part, Rangers still are.
A castmaster has always been my “go to” lure; however, plain old crappie jigs are good for just about anything. Thank you everyone, I learn so much from this forum.
