I had a โ€˜69 bug in college. A friend of mine and I took it elk hunting. We drove higher and higher until the snow was up to the running boards. Couldnโ€™t turn around so with the aid of the Jack we lifted it up turned it around and went back down the mountain.๐Ÿ˜ I loved that car.

They were a great driver but the heating system was the worst. But my 73 super beetle convertible had a fan in the system to create more hot air flow which was pretty nice. I loved all of my bugs and the type 3 I had also could not kill them cars Wulff. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ŽโœŒ๏ธ

โค๏ธThey call us โ€The Elderlyโ€โค๏ธ

We were born in the 40-50-60โ€™s.
We grew up in the 50-60-70's.
We studied in the 60-70-80's.
We were dating in the 70-80-90's.
We got married and discovered the world in the 70-80-90's.

We venture into the 80-90โ€™s.
We stabilize in the 2000โ€™s.
We got wiser in the 2010โ€™s.
And we are going firmly through and beyond 2020.

Turns out we've lived through EIGHT different decades...
TWO different centuries...
TWO different millennia...
We have gone from the telephone with an operator for long-distance calls to video calls to anywhere in the world.

We have gone from slides to YouTube, from vinyl records to online music, from handwritten letters to email and Whats App.
From live matches on the radio, to black and white TV, colour TV and then to 3D HD TV.
We went to the Video store and now we watch Netflix.

We got to know the first computers, punch cards, floppy disks and now we have gigabytes and megabytes on our smartphones.
We wore shorts throughout our childhood and then long trousers, Oxfords, flares, shell suits & blue jeans.

We dodged infantile paralysis, meningitis, polio, tuberculosis, swine flu and now C****-**.
We rode skates, tricycles, bicycles, mopeds, petrol or diesel cars and now we drive hybrids or electric.
Yes, we've been through a lot but what a great life we've had!

They could describe us as โ€œxennialsโ€; people who were born in that world of the fifties, who had an analog childhood and a digital adulthood.
We've kind of โ€œSeen-It-Allโ€!
Our generation has literally lived through and witnessed more than any other in every dimension of life.

It is our generation that has literally adapted to โ€œCHANGEโ€.
A big round of applause to all the members of a very special generation, which will be UNIQUE.

Two old guys, Rick 80 and Bill 87, were sitting on a park bench one morning

The 87-year-old had just finished his morning jog and wasnโ€™t even short of breath.

The 80-year-old was amazed at the guyโ€™s stamina and asked him what he did to have so much energy.

The 87-year-old said, โ€œWell, I eat rye bread every day. It keeps your energy level high and youโ€™ll have great stamina with the ladies.โ€

So, on the way home the 80-year-old stopped at the bakery.

As he was looking around, the saleslady asked if he needed any help. He said, โ€œDo you have any rye bread?โ€

She said, โ€œYes, thereโ€™s a whole shelf of it. Would you like some?โ€

He said, โ€œI want five loaves.โ€

She said, โ€œMy goodness, five loaves! By the time you get to the 3rd loaf, itโ€™ll be hard.โ€

He replied, โ€œI canโ€™t believe everybody knows about this stuff but me.โ€

Good morning folks. Where did August go??
75ยฐ and sunshine ๐ŸŒž. Sure is better weather than those down south are contending with.
The moon looks like the sun in the sky this morning!

A quickie then I have to keep moving...

When my friend fell asleep at the bar I poured ale on him. It was a brewed awakening.

Some may refer to it as alcohol abuse, since after he woke up, he beat the suds out of me.

A woman walked into the kitchen to find her husband stalking around with a fly swatter.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"Hunting flies," he replied.

"Oh, killed any?" she said.

"Yep, 3 males, 2 females," came the answer.

Intrigued, the wife asked,

โ€œHow can you tell them apart?"

Husband: "3 were on a beer can, and 2 were on the phone."

It was sometime in the early to mid-1960s, and we were living in McAllen, Texas. There was a neighbor who had purchased a new VW beetle. It wasnโ€™t long before he began bragging on his VW's superior gas mileage. It got to be so long and strong that other friends began to tire of his monopoly of conversations.

They finally decided to play a trick on their friend. At night they would sneak over and add a gallon, or half, to the Volkswagen. This had the effect of much higher miles per gallon. The owner would brag about this number until finally it got so high, he was silent because this was finally astronomical. No car could possibly get that high!

The owner of his new VW finally quit bragging about his mileage because of the high miles per gallon he was experiencing. Along about his time, his buddies began withdrawing gas from the Volkswagen. The miles per gallon dropped which causes some concern and caused the owner to take the vehicle back to the dealer for a diagnosis of his problem.

I do not know if his buddies ever told the VW owner what they had done for fun. Did you know that this vehicle was developed and built with the blessing of Adolf Hitler, who intended that every German family own one. They were encouraged to make a down payment toward buying their own V.W. but few ever received one.

I owned a new dark green VW when I was living in New York. When we had snow and other cars could not negotiate hills, my bug would just zip right up and never get stuck. I owned it for a year and sold it for what I had paid. Not a bad deal. Just Sayinโ€ฆRJS
