I get the report as well. Catfish
very surprised there was no mention of the Detroit River or Lake Erie on there, as local sources say they are hammering the walleyes

For the past year I have been fishing a unique weedless Ned rig I designed. Because I fish a river that is loaded with thousands of logs "that looks like the old Pick-up sticks game", from where they used to keep them for the sawmill I could not fish a standard Ned Rig without constantly getting hung up, so what I came up with is this. It is a quite simple yet deadly rig for fishing Neds in heavy cover. I use a 1/0 or 2/0 EWG hook and tie it onto my leader. Use whatever is your go-to knot to tie on a hook, but don't cut your tag end off. Run your tag down through the hook eye so it is below the belly of the hook. Cut the tag about 1 " long or so and crimp whatever size split shot you think it needs on just under the bait. So if you like 1/8 oz ned heads use a 1/8 oz split shot and so on. Now you can just rig you TRD worm in the standard Tex-posed way and you almost never have to worry about getting hung up. It will fish the same as it does on a regular jighead. The other nice thing about this rig if the weight does get hung with a hard pull and it will just slide off.

Love reading your posts-learn much and I laugh a lot! Y’all are awesome. I’m up in the UP Michigan when I’m not somewhere else, lol. Living on Big Manistique Lake. Fishing a lot, catching almost never! What a newbie for an old lady! Still love it! S Carol

Welcome to the Stage Carol! You are definitely in God’s country! We love pics here on the stage, whether they of are of scenery or of success! Do you fish from a boat or are you shore bound? Lots of great info here!!
If you have a boat, trolling a jointed Rapala in your choice of colors is a simple and great great way to find out where fish are hanging out
 good luck!
