Over the years my electronics screens have taken on more importance. I’ve noticed that these screens get wet / dirty , especially when making runs in the boat for distances and getting water spray like what happens at my home lakes. . Since I can’t run with my screen covers on , I hope to learn of a way that I can possibly keep in my boat storage . I’ve used windex / ammonia type stuff, and it removes most of the funky stuff, but I still have these weird looking spots . Since I don’t know if there’s some kind of coating on the glass on the screens , so I don’t want to get too aggressive if possible. Anybody got any good suggestions , would be greatly appreciated …..my 2cents…

Try 91% Isopropyl Alcohol, It drys quick and leaves no film. Costs about 50 Cents a pint more than 70% which will leave a film. 91% will not harm electronics if allowed to dry when the equipment is turned off. Learned that doing computer and computer system repair.
44 years worth! LOL Back when we had to clean disk and tape deck heads.
Don't ever buy 100% as 5 minutes after opening it will go to 91%.
It will suck the moisture out of the air. Save your money!

Hey Chuck. On my Hook2 (Lowrance), they warn not to use any type of glass cleaner or solvent type cleaner. They recommend tap water, and dishwashing liquid if its really bad. I keep a spray bottle of tap water, and a dedicated microfiber cloth on the boat. It works great to get all the minerals and algae from the spray off. I'm going on 6 yrs and my screen looks like new. Good luck my friend.

I use the fishing line conditioner spray to clean my screens along with a soft cloth. Not sure what all is in it but it works good for me. Also I do travel down the highway with my Lowrance cover on, secured with a small adjustable strap.

I'll second the suggestion of the microfiber cloth. No streaks and gets into the corners well. 👍🏻

Using a micro towels helps also.

I had same problem so I cleaned glass real good and installed glass screen protectors from Precsion glass...it seems easier to clean plus I have screen glass protection from lures and jigs hitting them.
Sometimes we get a little wild with hook sets lol
