Pumped gas and minor maintenance that every gas station attendant did back in the 80s. 2 yeasts after I went to college they went self serve. Now I’m quality manager at a small manufacturing facility.
Hey thanks for the advice. I will try your advice this morning when i go. I will look at how to rig a wacky worm. Never use it I will see what its about
There are a couple methods of wacky rigging. The easiest is just hook the fake worm off center and cast let it fall to the bottom and bounce back in. If you get hit but can’t catch switch out for a different style hook. Or smaller worm. Could be just grabbing bait and not getting colors to the hook. Hope it helps.. I’m still trying to figure things out myself.
Try slowing retrieve. Maybe different hooks. I had the same problem earlier this year. I went to a new lake and got a hit. The fish started hitting every cast but I wasn’t catching anything changed the hook setup caught one. Then they quit biting switched to a wacky rigged worm and caught several. Color time of day and hook selection are crucial. Patients is necessary.
I have been there but haven’t fished there. I believe it is spring fed. I would try and see if you can put in anywhere on the lake or only in the state park. There are multiple lakes interconnected to lake James the Chanel’s can be good or bad especially getting this time of year around northwest Ohio and ne indiana. Deep one day shallow the next. My brother has a place a few miles from the state park on another non connected lake and the fish move a lot this time of year. Good luck
Looking for a nice bass Setup the kids could get me for under 200.00. Spinning Combo or individual rod and reel. That would be a step up from my Garage sale and Walmart setups I currently have. I have a nice lews reel on a Shake spear light action but the rod will get destroyed by a nice bass a 2 pounder was all it could handle.
I replaced mono with Power pro 20 and 40 pound test on both my daughters bait casters and her casting problems went away. Until she got a massive birds nest last time out. Cut it off at the backer and respooled. Haven't had a chance to go back out. Anyone ever try the Bass Pro or Cabella's private label braided line. I purchased a couple spools to put on a dock runner and a dock demon spinning combos are nice in the Kayak because they are small and easy to transport.
Farmer keep that machine clean. Seen too many of them up in smoke due to chaff and a bad bearing or other malfunction. I only Saw one catch on fire that survived. That was because we were BSin at the fire station and the dispatcher messed up and sent us rather than the correct department. Saved 10min on response and only damage was paint, belt and bearing. The farmer was happy that we showed up and then called for the correct dept to do the paperwork.
Nice 50 here headed to 73. Sunny with a light breeze the next 4 days. Sunday is the next chance of rain. Lots of dust in the air. Harvest is in full swing after 8 inches of rain a week or 2 ago. Maybe get out to the water this Saturday if all goes well.
