New Fishing Rod for Christmas.

Looking for a nice bass Setup the kids could get me for under 200.00. Spinning Combo or individual rod and reel. That would be a step up from my Garage sale and Walmart setups I currently have. I have a nice lews reel on a Shake spear light action but the rod will get destroyed by a nice bass a 2 pounder was all it could handle.

Perfect suggestion Whitey, St. Croix Premier and a Pfluger President is a great combo, although not sold as a combo it’s what I suggest to people that come into the shop and are looking for something other than decent.

Wife bought me a president series rod and reel combo 15 years ago and it has worked very well over the years and at that time it ran around 80 bucks. I’m sure it has gone up some since then,but a good buy overall

Before Covid I think it was much more possible. I bought a rod in Nebraska last September for 30 bucks at a Walmart. Now they are at minimum 80+ dollars if you can even locate them. What sucks is a good buddy broke mine disembarking NOHURRY after Shad fishing now can’t find the rod available I was told Cv caused the problem.

A good rod is the Berkly Lighting rod series I have two of them I think I paid $45.00.
They are a great rod and I have caught a lot of Bass on them. And I hadn't rods that are lot more expensive. You can't go wrong and the get a good spinning reel.
