I have a 10' jon boat I bought from Academy for only 600 bucks, put a 120$ trolling motor on and was good to go.

I did pretty much the same thing with my jon boat. Turned it into a bass boat. Lowes or Home Depot has indoor/outdoor carpet that's pretty cheap. That's what I used. Its easy to staple and glue to your plywood deck, and works great. There are many websites that tell you exactly how to do this. Just go to "Turn jon boat into bass boat" online and you can find all the info you need.

Being from Texas, I can tell you for sure this is a largemouth bass, and a nice one at that ! About 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 pounds.

Its used for bass fishing, and don't cut off the little floppy tail. When you chunk it in the water that little tail wobbles like crazy as the bait is sinking in the water, Drives bass wild !

I live in Texas where you can Bass fish pretty much all year long, catch and release of course. But with the right techniques you can catch bass any time. Try Bass Resource.com. They have an amazing amount of info on bass fishing, gear, techniques, and anything you could ever want to know about bass fishing.

In my opinion no they will not. I have the same issue, small jon boat turned to bass boat, and have been told the transducer will not work through an aluminum hull. My fix was to mount a small pvc pole to the side of my jon boat and mount the transducer to the end of it. It turned out it works great for your fish/depth finder. Mine has worked great since I hooked it up. Make sure you remove it when your loading and unloading your boat or it will tear up your transducer.
