I live in New Hampshire and am a fishing rookie. I started fishing early summer last year. Like the title says, when should I start fishing for bass? I have the itch to get out there now (to the point where I just renewed my license), but I feel like it may be too early in the season and if I were to start now I won’t be catching anything. Any help, advice, and education is really appreciated. Thank you!

First step would be to read your regs so you know when you actually can start. Then start.

You can start now probably. Look up some cold water techniques on YouTube. I would personally do some kind of finesse soft plastic or a jerk bait.

I live in Texas where you can Bass fish pretty much all year long, catch and release of course. But with the right techniques you can catch bass any time. Try Bass Resource.com. They have an amazing amount of info on bass fishing, gear, techniques, and anything you could ever want to know about bass fishing.
Buddy even if you're not catching fish you can be learning your body of water.
