Anybody know what this is? I do. If you're not "aged" , it prob went out of production before you were born. I remember as a kid my dad and i used these exclusively for crappie on lake okeechobee and literally slayed them with it. For the life of me I dont know why they dont make them anymore.
The name of the jig is IRTX RNOEO
It's about 1 3/4" long

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Not really related but I recently signed up with a program with NASA that texts me in advance of when the international space station will be viewable from my location. Its pretty cool to watch it zing across the sky at 17,000 mph. It's usually has about a 5-6 min window of visibility.

πŸ‘ Something I use on all my rods after cleaning the is Pledge furniture polish. I wipe the entire rod down...rubber grips, cork etc...and all the guides inside and out. It will make your rod look new again and makes your guides super slick. You can use Pledge on everything and it wont harm anything including your line...braid or mono.
I also clean my entire motorcycle with it. I learned it from custom bike builders that build show bikes. They use it because it doesnt attract dust etc..and keeps their bikes/cars free of dust in shows. I use it a lot. Pant, rubber, leather ...anything. Give it a shot.
Just an fyi.

You're getting good advise here. Definitely make your knots tight. A loose knot can come untied or break.
Have you considerd trying some minnows or worms and a bobber? If you just want to catch some fish you'll prob get more action..bluegills,crappie.bass etc if your just looking to reel some fish in. Artificial take some practice.
I use to tie a beetle spin or small floating rapala on for my kids. They get a lot of bites from bluegill etc... and its always possible that a bass will eat it too but the bluegill ,crappie etc..kept them happy just to reel something in.

Looks like a crawdad lure. A lot of companies make them and can be found in about any tackle shops and walmarts. They're used for bass fishing as they dig the bottom imitating a crawfish escaping a predator but theres prob more than one way to fish them. Ive never used one but who knows what else would eat one. Piers can get pretty local but if you just watch what they're doing and ask a few questions most will be willing to steer you in the right direction.
Dont crowd them. Dont cast over their lines. Dont throw a 6oz sinker out if everybody else is free lining or throwing lures. Dont just throw a line in,set your rod down and walk away while your line drifts 8 people down from you etc..
Mostly common sense and courtesy will get you all the help you need.
Pay attention. It's a big help.
Good luck. I think you'll ha e an easier time on a daytona pier than you would further south like palm beach, dania etc...
