Gotta agree with Saw. I watched a fellow fillet crappie without bothering to knock them in the head and frankly it was disgusting that a person didn’t have enough respect for the fish to give it a rap first. I think it says a lot about the fisherman.
Ha, ha afraid not, but there’s enough stupid to go around especially when you’re 12 years old.
😄
Yeah, vibrating something in the ground will bring up worms especially after dark and the soil is moist. I’ve used a pitchfork, jamming it in the ground as far as possible and strumming the handle.
Long ago when I was young and stupid I ran an extension cord from house current attached to sections of a coathanger and jammed the works into the ground. Yup, it brought’em out like crazy. Luckily we didn’t electrocute ourselves! Stupid stupid stupid! Don’t do it.
Fried chicken & beer. Check!
😀
Thanks again. Much appreciated.
Thanks a million, Rick. That’s the specific information I’ve been looking for.
What sort of ballpark fee can I expect for two fishermen- half or full day? I won’t hold him to your rough estimate. Promise.
I believe those prices you quoted are for each person. That dog don’t hunt.
I hear you Jeremy. I remember chiding my father-in-law that life’s too short to be drinking cheap whiskey when you can afford better.
And then he passed leaving it all to his kids. :(
Thanks for the info fellas. I’m just looking at spending a day or two with my fanatic fishing friend in the salt water bay while wives content themselves shore shopping.
I’ve seen beach vendors with clipboard in hand soliciting boat trips. But not so sure about the fishing aspect. You can hook up with professional guide services but these guys are asking $200+ American dollars each for four hours on the water. I don’t want to spend that kind of money. But then I don’t wanna get in a panga without life preservers either. Just wondering if anyone can put me onto a local with equipment and a reasonable price.
Anyone here who’s fished Bandaras Bay in Puerto Vallarta?
We’re headed to Mexico in April for a week and I’m wondering what’s the best and cheapest way hiring a guide and spending a day or two fishing.
My father took us camping at Spirit Lake a few times back in the 50’s. I remember towering fir trees that crowded right down to the edge of the lake. The water was too cold for us kids to swim in.
I have no recollection of ever seeing cranky old Harry Truman there. His tourist lodge was across the lake. Rumor is there’s monster trout now cruising the lake, but no one’s allowed dip a toe much less fish it today.
Before I-5?! Wow, that goes back some. You’re right, the lake is on the east side of I-5 next to the highway that takes you to Mt St Helens or what’s left of it.
I think the Silver Lake he’s referring to is located north of Vancouver, WA near Castle Rock. It’s a prime large mouth bass water popular for local tournaments.
Damn. My next boat is gonna be a Lund. I’ve got a 40hp Merc 4 stroke that’s served me well, but enough of Tracker engineering for this cowboy.
