Anyone here who’s fished Bandaras Bay in Puerto Vallarta?
We’re headed to Mexico in April for a week and I’m wondering what’s the best and cheapest way hiring a guide and spending a day or two fishing.

Live close to Tepic..fish Agua Milpa regularly but favorite bass lake is Picachos over by Mazatlan....Its absolutely fabulous now..I have a boat there with friend who lives in MZT. He fishes it 2 or 3 times a week..
Salt water fishing over there has really declined the last few years..
Google Lake Picachos Mexico Mazatlan..

A lot less regulated in Mexico. I can hear the locals now. Eats oohhkaaay. ( it’s ok with accent). Never think about tomorrow until it’s too late. When there is NO saltwater fish left.... they will be saying EATS NOT ooooh Kay. Coulda woulda shoulda. Sometimes all those rules we are supposed to follow here in US are for a good reason. Some people don’t want any regulations. I know they are good for the fish and mankind in the long run.

its the same in the fresh water lakes here in....Bass bring the same price from the fish buyers as tilapia..
lake cops are either paid off or are scared to regulate...
its a damn shame ...but us gringos are in NO position to complain much...

Thanks for the info fellas. I’m just looking at spending a day or two with my fanatic fishing friend in the salt water bay while wives content themselves shore shopping.
I’ve seen beach vendors with clipboard in hand soliciting boat trips. But not so sure about the fishing aspect. You can hook up with professional guide services but these guys are asking $200+ American dollars each for four hours on the water. I don’t want to spend that kind of money. But then I don’t wanna get in a panga without life preservers either. Just wondering if anyone can put me onto a local with equipment and a reasonable price.

Hey Monday. Go have a blast catch anything you can I would. My comment may be true but if they can still get you on fish legally.. do it. Spend the money. Vacation is important. I been hunting and going on cruises etc more... can’t take it in the ground.. well you can but I’m enjoying my days when I can more. Been a tightwad too long.

April temps average around
82° to 85°; fishing charters (for
saltwater) start around $250
for 4 hours to $500/$600 for
a full day !

I hear you Jeremy. I remember chiding my father-in-law that life’s too short to be drinking cheap whiskey when you can afford better.
And then he passed leaving it all to his kids. :(

I believe those prices you quoted are for each person. That dog don’t hunt.
