Its a lot of fun. I’m not a pro by any means but I can fish doing it. My advice is don’t be in hurry and finesse goes a long way. Have a good time and enjoy the simplicity of it all.
I bought 2 Mitchell 300’s at a garage sale for 25$ a few years ago. One of them seems to be older than the other it is stamped made in France and in a case.
I’ve never used any power bait for trout fishing just wondering what anybody can tell me about it. How to use it, float it, hook it, what color? Thanks for any advice and tips.
Thanks for the heads up Hookback. I’m in central Ohio though. Fishing in the Clear Fork, Mohican, and Walhounding rivers.
Anybody catching saugeyes in Ohio rivers right now? Any tips on lures/bait ?

Is anyone catching any fall Smallmouth in small creeks
My girlfriend and I have been catching some here in Ohio out of the rivers. We are using diving rapalas with a crawfish and bluegill patterns. A friend of mine has been catching them tight lining with chubs. I have had luck in the past with white boo yah buzz baits by casting upriver and bouncing them off the bottom on the retrieve.

Nice job! I wish I had the time to do that!
Nice bait ! Looks very realistic. What good hobby and catching fish on it I’m sure is great self achievement.🎣
I got the same kayak. I love for the local rivers and lakes here in Ohio. Never thought about out rigging so I can stand up and fish easily on the lakes. I like your style man enjoy the water.
Try using a inline spinner called Joe’s Fly’s I’ve had great luck with them.Trout magnets and small rooster tails are good too. Sneak up to the water and stay in the shadows.
Always some a..hole ruining something good. Giving honest fishermen/women a bad name.
I’m not sure what to tell you. My best advice is they are looking to get fat for winter. Fish has much as you can and have fun. I’d love to hook one !
Floating rapala black/silver!
Finesse is the best. It’s not a power cast. You can practice in your yard with a piece of yarn or light fabric tied to your leader. Good luck and enjoy it’s a lot of fun.
