There were many people that lost their lives in the trailer park that is gone.
They were piled up on top of each other from the storm surge 16 foot high.

I normally fish on Black Friday but this year my brother in law and my nephew we're coming down for Thanksgiving dinner.
And wanted to go fishing.
So I went a day early.
We left my dock at 6:30 with a 45:00 minute boat ride to to our first spot.
We pulled up on our first spot within 5 minutes the bird's diving and the fish we're busting on the bait . And you got a bite every cast. We fished Cape haze point on that stop. Next stop Bull Bay third cast and we we're on them again. After an hour we moved to turtle bay and worked the West side for a few. Moved North to the Bird Island and we we're back in the fish.
One more spot before we had to go. We fished East of the manatee bouys in about 4 feet of water for another hot spot.
These fish we're bigger. Each of us caught at least 10 fish each stop 4 stops over 120 fish for 4 hours of fishing. The Hot baits were a White 3.5 swim bait. And a DOA .5 oz shrimp under a poppin Cork.
We left every spot after the dolphins we're getting aggressive.
The last stop the puffers ate your rubber every cast.
I ran out of swim baits.
Great day on the water .
And dinner was ready when we got to the dock.
All that is a good thing to be thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving all you fishing stage anglers. Sorry no pictures today.

In Florida no one owns the Gulf and Atlantic beaches the only thing that they can do is restrict your access to the beach.

Finally got out on the water Monday morning. It's been 3 weeks since I've been fishing on a boat. Went with 3 friends Bill, Ron and Paul. We fished Cape haze point and turtle bay. The ride down was bumpy and the wind was up but the fish were biting. Mostly trout and lady fish Ron had the hot bait a Red and white crappie jig under a poppin Cork we boated over 60 fish. I had a lady fish on my line and as it jumped a 4.5 foot shark came out of the water straight up and took the Lady fish time to rerig. Here are some pics. Ron has the spotted jaw fish.

Yes Venice Beach Florida is a very popular area for shark tooth hunting.
So popular it's difficult to fish.
There are shark teeth on the Beach all the way to Boca Grande Pass.

I fish the Beach at Boca Grande and find fossil sharks teeth almost every time I go out. It's unusual for me not to find any.

Your going to love the fishing here.
Most of Best spots are in 2 to 5 feet of water at high tide.
Keep a sharp eye on your charts until you get to know the area many places to run aground inside the harbor.
Check out fishing Frank's for gear bait rigging and info.
Yo won't be disappointed.

Fish moving water around deeper channels and holes oyster bars are good and moving
deeper water next to mangroves is good .
Shrimp catches everything.
Live shrimp is best.

Thanks for the info I normally go slowly on my first few trips .
We went from Bull Bay to Turtle bay Sunday and we we're in water so skinny it didn't show on the fish finder.
I have hit a rock bar at full speed in
unfamiliar water I'm not doing that again.
I live in South Gulf cove so most of my trips start from home. So I'll be coming in from the south Chanel or turtle bay.
