Finally got out on the water Monday morning. It's been 3 weeks since I've been fishing on a boat. Went with 3 friends Bill, Ron and Paul. We fished Cape haze point and turtle bay. The ride down was bumpy and the wind was up but the fish were biting. Mostly trout and lady fish Ron had the hot bait a Red and white crappie jig under a poppin Cork we boated over 60 fish. I had a lady fish on my line and as it jumped a 4.5 foot shark came out of the water straight up and took the Lady fish time to rerig. Here are some pics. Ron has the spotted jaw fish.

Good morning Norman, you went the wrong day ( wrong tide, windy, and a Monday) ha!ha! Well anyday is a good day for fishing, the only day that I've been able to go was last Friday and it turned out to be a pretty good day caught lots of Red's and a few Snook and for the Trout I couldn't keep count of how many we caught ๐Ÿ˜‚ but must have been 30-40 anyway ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŽฃ they were all caught in Bull Bay... Glad you got back out ๐Ÿ™ Chuck

Gordon, we must have caught 25 red's and my wife just plain got tired, we had a great day of fishing, I've got a few special holes where you can always catch fish๐ŸŽฃ but I've been fishing there all my life and it does make a difference where and when you fish ๐Ÿ˜‚ Chuck

My son in law and I fished Port Charlotte with a guy named captain Clark. We caught a lot of small trout, ladyfish. We moved and caught so many (canโ€™t think of name right now-dark stripe down side. Must be 28โ€ long) that I actually had to quit I caught close to 50 at least, over half were 28โ€+. Never been worn out before. Man what a day. They were out of season then. You could only keep one if in. My son in law caught a big red, but it wasnโ€™t in either. Great time. I also caught 2 seagulls. Theyโ€™d snatch your bait when it hit the water lol. They really squawk a lot. Guess I would too if hooked. lol.

Nam, you can fish all day down there and if you don't know where the underwater cuts are going in and out of the Mangrove Islands you're not going to catch lots of snook and redfish they feed where the water wash the bait in and out ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŽฃ glad you had a good day ๐Ÿ™ Chuck

Snook is right. Could not think of the name. That seems to happen quite often. A name or a word. Itโ€™s the golden years. Someone spent my gold. Lol

Well, at least you have/had enough gold to get on the water with family & someone who put you on some fish.
There are plenty of people who can only wish or dream of such a day as you shared.

Must be the proximity to Turkey Thursday that has me thinking on thankfulness.
Thanks to all for sharing your experiences.
