I was in Alaska during the Valdez event. What a mess. Innumerable animals died and thousands were injured by that spill. I was working for an oil company and it was definitely a low point in that experience. The oil companies spent millions on attempting to ensure that would never happen again and millions more trying to clean up along with being fined and appropriately so.
I gained a huge respect for our oceans from this experience.
Please do all you can to prevent polluting our oceans and fresh waters.

Way to go Mr. Samples. I’ll bet you had some good memories as you shared the photos.

Has anyone heard or tried using WD-40 on lures as an attractant?

Here’s a link to the MSDS (material safety data sheet) for the product. No fish oil.

RJ’s 19# Peacock Bass really grabs my attention. Peacocks are said to be among the most agressive fish. Add the exotic location and you have an adventure you will never forget.

I have a 14 foot Klamath aluminum after two to three hours of trolling there's about 3 inches of water in the back of the boat. Was wondering if anyone know a good fix

First you might want to check your drain plug and the hole. Maybe the plug has hardened and not making a good seal or the hole has some debris.
According to Klammath all of their boats are welded. Have you modified the boat such as adding a cable for a fish finder by penetrating the hull? Check for a leak there.
Aluminum can develop pin holes from electrolysis. You can take the boat out of the water and fill it with water a little at a time watching for drips as you go.
I recommend a flexible sealant as opposed to welding. I used a marine sealant on an old boat and it worked good.

Very impressive Mr. Samples. I've yet to weigh any of my catches except for an Alaskan Halibut - 185#. But like said previously, no pictures it didn't happen.

No worries. I just have a tendency to pre qualify these days as I seem to constantly get challenged as to what I base my comments on. I find my self doing the same these days, as talking from the wrong part of ones body seems to be the norm. I guess your right. No one cares.

Peace bro.

I cut short sections of plastic tubing and stack them on end and placed them in a carry bag. I did this for my surf casting lures. Of course they are much larger than the spinners you are talking about but I think you could scale it down to match your lures. Small diameter tubing in a length that allows the lure to dangle from the hook while “hooked” over the lip of the tubing. Depending on the diameter of the tubing you choose, you can hang more than one lure in each tube. You should be able to find a plastic box (Tupperware for example) just a bit deeper than the length
of the tubing. A lot of work I know but works great to avoid the tangled mess that can easily happen.

My multi piece rods have all come with a multi section rod sock and rod tube. I always break my rods down to protect them. I did start buying rod carriers that allowed for leaving the reels mounted but they also include separate slots for the rod sections.

I really like my Penn reels. Like others, I agree you can’t go wrong with any of your choices. You don’t say what you target fish is but a 3000 or 4000 May be in your wheelhouse.

If you are an old time sea fairer, you do not do a conversion. You just know the depth in fathoms as natural as in feet. 6 fathoms is 6 fathoms, just as 36 feet is 36 feet as 9 meters is a 9 meters regardless of who reads it and needs to convert it to something they are used to. Most Europeans have to convert feet to centimeters and meters to get a perspective of the length. The United States does the opposite. It is truly dumb. But everyone seems to think the other guy should change to their method in spite of the metric system being the simplest to learn and use on a level playing field. So once again pride and arrogance wins out over common sense. It is even more foolish than the arguments between which is better, spinning or bait casting reels. They are just different ways to reach the same end.

The country using feet and inches also put men on the moon. Just saying. (A tribute to Mr. Samples)

A good way to mark your line is to use one of the above methods for the initial drop. Before reeling up cross your line across the face of the spool. Upon your next drop watch for the line cross.
