Once a year here, total tear down, be careful not to lose the little C like locking washers, and there are decent vids on Utube to assist in the tear down.... change line out then too

That is correct, I use 7/0 and higher circles and large baits, even for 3pound channels.... the dink’s will peck the bait, but most can’t take it. I say most because I’ve got one pounders in large hooks

Quality Hooks equates to quality hook-ups.....I always let the fish take it and then just reel down, do not attempt a traditional hook set, let the circle do the work for you

Educate your thumb, if your back lashing early in the cast adjust centrifugal brakes, if it happens late in the cast adjust magnetic brakes.... don’t forgot your spool tension knob...

It takes practice, Hang in there
