Take road out to the beach at Ft. Island....fishing pier at half way point in park and out at end next to boat launch area.....

Which fish is best for eating?
Fresh halibut from salt water......fresh trout in fresh water.....also liked fresh bluefish if put on grill right after being caught.....never frozen or even a day later.

Interesting....wish I knew you while you were there.....did a float trip with Bowman guide....that sold me on a return trip and it had to be on the River......sept not best month but was the time I had available.....

It is east of Blue Ridge And North of the hiway below the dam. Has a small pier right down on the water.....river wide there . looks too deep to wade.bringing fly and spin gear.
