Excellent! Don't forget to visit Currahee to do your three miles up and three miles down after eating a heaping plate of spaghetti and meatballs for supper!

Sorry! It's a reference to a scene in the WW2 movie series, Band of Brothers. In the initial episode, a company of recruits of the 101st Airborne, are in basic training at Camp Toccoa where, immediately after a heavy meal of spaghetti and meatballs, the hated CO orders them to run to the top of Currahee and back (three miles up and three miles down), resulting in spaghetti markers all along the mountain trail.

Ok...watched some of that show....not all....guess I missed that session. Are you from the area?
It would be hard to find a better place in this heat. It's been really nice up here. I'm about an hour from Taccoa falls.
The Toccoa river and Camp Currahee are quite some distance apart.....
Is your rental above or below Blueridge Lake?

It is east of Blue Ridge And North of the hiway below the dam. Has a small pier right down on the water.....river wide there . looks too deep to wade.bringing fly and spin gear.

Good area for that time of year. Cold water from the dam keeps trout healthy

Where in Florida do you go? I am in Ocala...
Palm Bay. The bass and bluegill fishing is great when the weather cooperates!
I was the trout biologist in NE Georgia for 19 years. We sampled streams all over from Blue Ridge east. The Toccoa below the Blue Ridge dam is one of the best, but public access is very limited. There is access at Curtis Switch, but you are limited to how far you can wade. Good luck with your trip! There is a top notch fly shop in Blue Ridge, and they will be able to put you in contact with local guides if you are interested.

Interesting....wish I knew you while you were there.....did a float trip with Bowman guide....that sold me on a return trip and it had to be on the River......sept not best month but was the time I had available.....
If the river is too warm for trout, there are always smallmouth in the lake and above, and other, cooler streams such as Noontootla and its tribs to try for trout.
