In all respect, my topic wasn't about where power is sent even though it is stated that Southwestern Power Administration that gets power from the White River dam system does indeed send it's produced power to Oklahoma and Texas, but rather the issue of groups putting citizens who have paid for a product to be produced and supplied, in danger of injury or death in the name of clean energy.
When our local Serria club leaders stated this past year as our local and most modern and clean burning coal fired power plant was shut down, was not their intention, to me the problem is that we were not prepared with alternative power sources to replace what was and is being removed from service to keep us as citizens safe and also to keep the U.S. moving forward.
It is hard to believe that a city like Nashville is dealing with this type of a situation in soon to be 2023. I also felt this way about Texas and other places that have dealt with rolling blackouts and total power failure due to upgrades not being accomplished. Those of us that pay our power bills timely should be able to rely on ample supply to stay safe especially when conditions require the need.

We live North of Murfreesboro,Tn and experience a “Brown Out” yesterday!! The TVA has let its guard down and has put millions of people in danger of being frozen to death in the name of “Green Energy”!!! This BS from this administration and government has got to stop!! I’m in favor of all the above “BUT” only when we can supply that energy at full 100%!!! For you guys who are not “ effected” yet…it’s coming to your home very shorty!!! Call or text your Rep. and Senators and give them an ear full!! Let’s get Clean Coal back to work for our Nation!!!!

Took my blue tick to the vet to get some urine extracted out of her bladder to see if her urinary track infection was all cleared up. When I left to go home she could not walk. Don't know what happened while they had her in the back room but she would not even take any trees from me. Had to take her back and ended up putting her down. Been a bad evening for my wife. She has been in bed crying all afternoon.

So sorry to hear about your Best Friend!!!! Being a retired K9 officer I know what it is like to have to put your partner down. God’s speed to you and your wife on this loss. If you’ve never had a close friend like a dog…its hard to explain!!!🙏

Very beautiful setup on your trains. Living in Tennessee has been a pure joy!! We get a “Winter Season” but it’s just cold with a little snow. The snow started at 9:00am on the 15th. and never really stopped until Sunday the 18th. Enjoy looking at your pictures and reading your adventures in Northern Michigan.

As I mentioned to DC...the best wind is a modest one. 10 to 15 mph is plenty for good safe fun. When it gets blowing too hard I have had the front end of the kayak start to submarine and want to dive...which lifts the back end up a bit. It's pretty eerie and I don't like that feeling! When I was younger it was an adrenaline rush in high winds. Nowadays I am far more mellow!

Fishyaker I take my hat off to you on trying to go out and enjoy Michigan’s fishery!! When I left on November 22 nd the snow storms in West Michigan were terrible!!! I love Michigan “but” have lost my appetite for cold, wet snow!!! Working outside for 25 years as a Deputy took the fun out of the winter weather for the rest of my life!! Enjoy the Winter Wonderland and keep sending the pics of your adventures during this upcoming winter. If we don’t text again before the holidays…Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your Lady.

Hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas up in TC. Nice to hear from you Fishyaker. Thanks again.

Tagged out in Michigan Deer Season with eight pointer and spike horn. My buddy Nick filled his second tag on Thanksgiving morning. We had a mission to fill our freezers and that was accomplished!!! A lot of snow (15 inches) and terrible wind “but” that didn’t stop us from hunting. Hope all you stagers have a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.

My name is Tiffany and my dad, Keith, used to send me words of wisdom from this site every week. Everyone who contributed to this community had a huge impact on my dad. He would laugh and laugh at your stories and always shared the best ones with my brother, Kevin, and I.

He passed away unexpectedly last night and I just felt like I had to make sure this community knew how much laughter your posts brought my family and I.

Thank you all. Next time you cast a line, or drink some rum, raise a glass to my dad!

With love, Tiffany

This story happened during World War II and the Allied Armies had pushed their way into Germany. During a lull in the fighting, a U.S. Army truck had been captured by the German forces. Upon examination of the contents by some German field grade officers, they were surprised and shocked to find among all the other items a Chocolate Cake, sent just 6 days prior for the birthday of an American soldier at the front.
Upon examination of this cake and realizing it had only taken 6 days from Iowa to the battlefront, one of the higher-ranking German officers said, “Well, we have lost the war because any force that has such amazing logistics to deliver a non-essential birthday cake will overwhelm our forces.
German troops at the front were sorely pressed for any kind of supplies, from ammunition, first aid, food, anything! And yet Americans can get delivery over many thousand miles of non-essential birthday cakes in 6 days! Just Sayin…RJS
