Nice! Is it just me, or is it a bit early in the season to be seeing kingfish? I also saw reports of blowfish being caught which seems early too.

Hi every one . I'm a new jersey fisherman, who does all kinds of fishing. Been doing prespawn bass down here outside of Camden. Haven't caught many but the ones I caught are my personal bests and I'll post pics of them right after this. There from three different lakes. I caught at least one every where but I went to one two days in a row and paid off. Two five pounders. Out of a housing development in Lumberton nj I'm also about to buy a fishing kayak with a fifty five pound thrust foot steered speed control, all the bells and whistles power all over all that and a trailer that fits the kayak nice. 1650$ots a 1800 kayak and trailer was thrown in . I was about to pull the trigger today but found out it's not titled only has noterized bill of sail. So in nj anything with a motor electric or gas has to be registered and to get it registered I need a notarized bill of sale or the title from what I know anyway if anybody knows any easier way and the trailer doesn't have a title or bill of sale so I have to get one of them for the trailer also so I'm looking at some more money and I'm wondering if it's even worth it at this point I just want it because it has a trailer and a strong trolling motor and it's in top condition it's not much cheaper than it is brand new but I get a trailer and a strong trolling motor let me know I'm on here for the summer so you guys will be seeing a lot of me and I'm also trying to figure out what the stripers are doing down here in South Jersey in the river because I talked to a guy yesterday who caught seven keepers on plugs in the river down here

Subject: RE: [United States] Fresh water gulp vs Salt water gulp

Dear John,

Thank you for contacting Berkley regarding our Gulp Alive! Baits. The attractant in all Gulp! Alive! buckets is the same so, if you wish to mix the attractants you are free to do so without any issue. You might want to be cautious when mixing the baits though, because some bait colors have a tendency to bleed. If you are utilizing spray attractants, you will not want to mix those.

There are actually a few variations in the formulas between the different bait shapes. The difference is minimal and depends on the color or targeted species of the bait. All Freshwater Gulp! has a base scent/flavor "package" that provides the essential ingredients that makes Gulp! so effective for freshwater fish. But, if a bait is predominantly designed for bass, i.e. a 7" Turtleback worm, that formula will be customized for bass. This doesn't mean that other species will not be attracted or find the bait palatable. This can also be said for saltwater baits.

I hope you find this information helpful.
Best regards,
Berkley Customer Service

I honestly don’t know if there’s a difference. I do know that all gulp products that I’ve used work great in saltwater water. I fish for all saltwater species with gulp grubs, swimming mullet, nemesis, sand eels, shrimp, bloodworms. Here in the northeast, the gulp products are probably the most popular bait for summer flounder aka fluke. Different colors work on different days but that scent is always a huge factor often outfishes live bait. I keep all my gulp products in a large plastic jar with a screw on lid, and I use recharge bottle of alive juice to keep enough juice in there. It doesn’t ever seem to go bad even when it turns brown with age.

Welcome aboard Joey! I’m a pretty much a saltwater guy now, mostly great bay, little egg harbor, Barnegat bay and some surf and jetty fishing. Hope you enjoy the stage.

I would suggest the Plano 3700 size pro latch plastic boxes/trays. They have adjustable compartments, they stack easy. Many different bags, boxes, backpacks are made to accommodate these boxes. You can have one for hardware such as swivels, snaps, clips, and another for sinkers, another for soft plastics, another for plugs and one for pre tied rigs. Label and Stack them on your work bench then just grab the ones you think you’ll need and stuff them into your tackle bag or backpack before you leave. Many boats have compartments designed to store them https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwi9-4GdyKf-AhXRCbMAHWFBDuMYABAMGgJ5bQ&ae=2&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESa-D25uSWkRrzq2oEbKcB2fL94gwXto9HqL5Lo2WliotZcqW2aCd1-fEgWaHy4zBitemH6IH6PIi9bky73Dp_6vDRFA2MqS_dC20b3gG2GgiOxQI4Fqo00Tkl26d2rxEbYAKQQQSUikawVzG6&sig=AOD64_1wDvCaYyoadxJFGv3s7yudUGrJig&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwj7h_qcyKf-AhUpFFkFHUB2DG0Qwg8oAHoECAUQHQ&adurl=

Once in awhile it is good to ponder things with a smile….

Yep, sure does seem that way sometimes. And you just have to shake your head and chuckle about it. But if we think hard enough about it, I’m sure there’s been times when we’ve received something good that wasn’t earned or deserved. Something unexpected that pleased us. Now take a moment to smile about that.
