Went to the beach Saturday under gunned and got spooled and schooled!!
Went back Sunday with the big guns and Redeemed myself with eight 34 1/4 inch 15 pound Striper on an inflated blood worm the big gun was my 10 foot Saint Croix mojo spinning rod and my Shimano 1400 Ultegra reel . I used a worm puffer on the blood worm

Thanks for the report. I’ve blown up night crawlers when fishing for Wallye but never for Stripers. 1st time I’ve neeard of that. Makes sense it would work to keep the blood worm a bit off the bottom and also present a larger profile bait for the Stripers. Thanks for the tip.

Yep that’s true! It was my GX2 ugly stick but the problem was when I realized I only had about a half spool of line on it ! But I was wanting to catch one on that for a challenge next time I’m going with a full spool!! Lol !

Very nice catch and you have the perfect timing for the striper run, 30 pounders are coming through. Good idea for the bait and thank you for the pics and info.

I still text him occasionally and will be going out on the boat sometime in the future he says. I miss him here too! Shark pics SO funny!
