I've done a lot of boating on Texoma but only fished it once. (It's a lot of big open water for my 17ft boat. I have to watch the weather closely.) I hope to remedy that this summer. I'm on the Texas side and go to the equestrian area near Platter on the Southeast side of the lake. I've fished for striper but didn't catch any. I plan on doing some cat fishing and jug lining there this summer. Maybe my luck will change.

As a Texan, I have to buy an Oklahoma license as well because of the boundary. Hard to know if you are in Texas water or OK water as it isn't a straight line.

Buy a Texoma lake fishing license. They are far less costly than either state license. Turn 65 yoa then fishing license are not needed in Okla.

Hey yall,

We were chasing some big brown trout with my favorite and in my opinion, the best, trout lure - the Marabou jig. We caught us a beautiful big ole brown and had a blast! What is everyone's favorite lure for trout in general? I want to try them all!

Thanks!

Black eyed peas became a major source of food for the rebel army after Sherman's march to the sea had burned much of the south.

No worries G man, Fresh and Saltwater is free 65 and older,BUT still have to pay 5.00 for a Trout/Salmon stamp if you want to fish for,or keep them. Since licenses are computer printouts now, I believe you still need a new one every year. Lord knows they won't last if you get them wet.

Another source for state income.

We would wait until we had a couple dozen or more before we would cook them because of their size. If you don’t have enough it’ll just piss you off and you’ll still be hungry. 😁😁😁

Grew up in eastern Oklahoma hunting and eating those. My hunting duty was climbing the tree and and fetching when they didn't hit the ground. Learned quick not to put my hand in a hole to get one. It would come back with a squirrel attached.
