I would love to use this forum to talk about fishing LAKE TEXOMA, share catches, what worked, etc. Lake Texoma is new to me and I would love to hear from you about your experiences at the lake.
Thanks, looking forward to hear from all of you.

I've done a lot of boating on Texoma but only fished it once. (It's a lot of big open water for my 17ft boat. I have to watch the weather closely.) I hope to remedy that this summer. I'm on the Texas side and go to the equestrian area near Platter on the Southeast side of the lake. I've fished for striper but didn't catch any. I plan on doing some cat fishing and jug lining there this summer. Maybe my luck will change.

As a Texan, I have to buy an Oklahoma license as well because of the boundary. Hard to know if you are in Texas water or OK water as it isn't a straight line.

n order to fish Lake Texoma, all persons over the age of 14 MUST POSSESS a Lake Texoma Fishing License. Regular Texas Fishing License and Oklahoma Fishing License DO NOT Apply to Lake Texoma! Since Lake Texoma is located in both Texas and Oklahoma, a Lake Texoma license is NEEDED.Mar 3, 2020 Just Sayin...RJS

Robert, I disagree. I have an email from Oklahoma fish and game from November 2021 that says you can either possess a Texoma license OR a Texas and Oklahoma license. Since I fish other lakes in Oklahoma I have an OK license. I'm covered by the two state licenses.

Well it may have changed. But when I lived in Gainesville it was the rule that if you had either a Texas License or an Oklahoma license fishing in Texoma was covered. I just now copied the prior post just now which is dated 2020 that a Texhoma license was required. I do not believe you have to have both a state fishing licnese and a Texoma License. Robert - That is my understanding. BUT, I fish other lakes in Oklahoma so I have to have an OK license.

Here is further information. If you are a resident of Oklahoma or a resident of Texas, and have a respective state fising license, you can fish in Texoma on your respective side of this lake.

However, if you wish to fish anywhere on either side, you must purchase a Texoma Lake Fishing license. Just Sayin..RJS

Hi guys, yes you can fish lake texoma with a Oklahoma or Texas or Texas fishing licence no need to have a Texoma Lake licence. Ic you don't have either Texas not Oklahoma the Lake licence is great for a very low fee.
Anyways I live on the Oklahoma side of Texoma and have a also a 18 foot Skeeter bass boat to fish.

Mike, there are a couple of FB groups that will have good and accurate info about Texoma. For up to date licensing info, check with the Wildlife Dept.
I have fished Texoma a couple of times, just staying in the bays. My back does not like open water. I primarily fish for LM, end up with a mixed bag.

Nice OK John, largemouth bass is what I like to catch but any bite is fun LOL. I had good luck in the McLaughlin creek area for both LM and Stripped bass.

McLauglin looks familiar. Definitely Soldier & Alberta Creeks. There are plenty of good areas-it's just what you like to fish.

Buy a Texoma lake fishing license. They are far less costly than either state license. Turn 65 yoa then fishing license are not needed in Okla.
