All the years I hunted in the west I've only had to kill one. I was working a yearling Brittany and dropped a limit of five chuckar over a point without moving. A very rare situation. When I sent her to retrieve the birds I heard a rattler. She was so young and inexperienced and excited I didn't dare take a chance.

Hey Jim. It’s good to be back.
I got away from social media for awhile due to some health issues and traveling as an official with the ML circuit. Both took up a lot of time and energy. I officiated at the MLF Kissimmee Chain of Lakes in February, but haven’t done anymore since then. They change the format and reimbursement cost, So I’m not doing it anymore. It was a great four years and I was able to spend time in the boat with 59 of the 80 best anglers in the world.
Tight lines man.

What a tremendous experience.

Ken,
Years ago we were fishing Soldiers Creek in Utah before it merged with Strawberry. No one in several boats was catching fish. My buddy Shorty put on a #16 treble hook and draped an entire night crawler from it. We limited out within two hours. Also got a lotta interest from the other boats. So I think you have to keep trying different things until you score

Mark,
Years ago while stationed at Dugway Proving Grounds I took a ten day leave with some folks from Colorado. We spent the entire time on the Grand Mesa fishing and exploring. I'll never forget the first time I applied insect repellent only to watch a mosquito land on my arm and bite through the still wet freshly applied repellent. My buddy commented "they use it for sauce."

Crabbing this morning and just made it in before rain hit.
Crabbing very slow.
Waiting for rain to stop so we can get back to the trot line.
Hope they don’t eat it up before we get back!

I am reading Michener's "Chesapeake" which is based on the Choptank.

Just a short message from Graveytrain 50.

Gravey is resting up after cataract surgery and having some difficulty seeing close up and hoping to have new glasses within a months time frame.

He just wanted to say Hi to the guys and gals and let you all know he is okay.

Plumbob,
He can pick up a pair of dime store readers for a few bucks. That should get him by until he's ready for a prescription. +2.25 is a good starting point.

Has ben over a month since we've been out there.
Brad and I went out Saturday and had a 20 fish day. IN 15 MIN.
After that flurry it was all over. Had we not been where we were right then, we would have drawn another blank for the day.
As the sayin go, "Timing is everything." " Location, location, location !"

Ain't it the truth Saw. And one thing for sure, if you weren't out there trying you wouldn't have enjoyed that fifteen minutes.
