Buddy I'm 50 miles east of Pensacola or 25 miles north of Ft. Walton Beach. A spot in the road called Baker, Fla.
Mike I'm in north west Fla. where is Lake Sampson?
Only reason I'm not wearing Wiley X is because my Ins. wouldn't help pay for them. They were my first pick. Sure some nice eye wear.
I'm using Oakley's and they work very well. But in the end your $30 pair are probably just as good. And look at the money you save to buy baits with.
I have one of the Striker 4's on my boat along with a 7" Lowrance which cost over four times as much and I like my little Garmin much better. I think it a great little unit for the price.
MaD2112. Here is the part about getting old, I can't figure out how to send a private message. Would you send me a private message and let me see if I can go from there. Bill
Thanks Ivery. Great article. Most of the water around here is still in the mid-60's, so I think I'll give it a couple more weeks then head that way.
Guys I'm down here in NW Florida and it's a 4 hour drive for me to get to Lay Lake or Lake Mitchell. What I need is a contact of someone that lives there. What's the weather, are the bass bedding? Questions like that. I hate to drive that far just to be driving. I drive that far to really just focus on spots. I have all the large mouth I want here but they can't hold a candle to a spot when it comes to fighting. And we have very few spots. I have no idea how the forum looks at this kind of exchange of info but it could sure help us old farts plan a trip.
That's right. Just show your drivers license. That's about the only thing about getting old.
DFS if you can get to a computer that the easiest way or just find you a walmart. Also most any bait shop sells licenses.
Buddy, Florida is like Texas there really isn't a best one. They all have bass and on a given day they're all good. The best ones can be a two acre farm pond or one that's thousands of acres. So I'd say hit what ever you can and send the pictures. By the way, they will be bedding in Lake Seminole at that time too. Soon as this darn wind lets up that's where I'll be.
Try Texas rigged zoom trick worms in june bug and red shad. Seems to work anywhere in Fl. Lot of other baits would work well but would cost a bunch if you snag them and have to break off. With the bass bedding a Pop-R is a good little bait for top water and that would keep you out of the snags on bottom. Good luck.
Had an old aunt that swore by the music and her snuff. She sat on the creek bank with her radio going and spit snuff on her bait. Anyway she caught fish. Said the music drew the fish and the snuff made them bite. myself I like it quite.
The reds are starting to come up the rivers. Caught a 17 incher Tues. on a plastic worm bass fishing.
I really believe in reel covers. It only takes one grain of sand to break the point on your worm gear and then your reel hangs up. So when I'm on the road I keep my reels covered.
