A while back we discussed rod socks . Seems some folks like them and some had never heard of them. Handy way to store the rods and prevents tangled lines.
Recently I’ve been picking up reel covers here and there.
I’ve got a few new (ish) reels and I’m thinking I’d like to keep them protected.
I like the Shimano Neoprene covers for both spinning and casting. They fit pretty good and don’t break the bank. I’m thinking it doesn’t yale a second or 2 to put em on and take em off and could help keep em from clanking together in rod locker.
Other brands seem OK too
Anyone using reel covers?

Always use them during transport and winter storage. Bought cheapie vinyl covers from bass pro many years ago, not sure if they’re even made anymore.
I have used bait covers. On the rod soxs how do you keep hooks out of them??

Yea that gets tricky. I usually stop the rod sock short of the lure on hook keeper.
I’ve taken to removing lures and putting them away for any extended storage
I really believe in reel covers. It only takes one grain of sand to break the point on your worm gear and then your reel hangs up. So when I'm on the road I keep my reels covered.
I just ordered a package of three SF (Sunshine Fishing) covers that are for low profile baitcasting reels that look like they fit nice, I needed three for the three Daiwa Lexi 100's I have, it has bugged me to have them in the rod locker uncovered. Three for $14.99

Crown Royal bags work great for reel covers, also I usually wrap my lure or hook with aluminum foil before I slip on the rod sock. I been doing this for years with any rod I’m fishing with.
If iknew someone who drank crown
Even when I keep my rods in my pick up rack, I wrap the lures with aluminum foil.

That’s a great idea
I have 6 or 8 of those bags. They fit on my big 5000 and 6000 spinners no problem, even while on the rid.
I would need someone who was a everyday drinker for all of my stuff

Not sure of your state/city's rules on bars being open, but make friends with a bartender or better yet, a bar manager.
Years ago I asked my favorite bartender, a dynamite fly tier and fisherman, if he could save me a few Crown Royal bags, he said sure. Didn't think about until a few weeks later. Must have had quite the traffic in pouring CR....Toni hands me two CR bags totally stuffed !
I got home and found that he had gifted me 60+ ! Still have many ( been, like 15 years, now), and when anybody looks at my rod collection, I am sure that they think I must be a wealthy lush !
Sounds like a good idea. Thanks
