What's the best bass lake to fish in Florida around the end of March? I
have my fishin buddy coming in from Sacramento, and we want to go after them in our
kayaks. We'll also be looking for a place to stay (AirBnB), is that how you say it?

I would look into the Kissimmee chain of lakes. First choice Lake Toho “Tohopekaliga”

Buddy, Florida is like Texas there really isn't a best one. They all have bass and on a given day they're all good. The best ones can be a two acre farm pond or one that's thousands of acres. So I'd say hit what ever you can and send the pictures. By the way, they will be bedding in Lake Seminole at that time too. Soon as this darn wind lets up that's where I'll be.

Toho is great. My son and I put 34 bass in the boat in under 3 1/2 hours . Spring fishing all were released

Lake Toho or East Lake Toho are good. Find cover or structure, they are there.

Fished Lake Toho with 5" shiners and the bass were hitting like crazy. Largest one was 9.5 lbs.

Gary,

Thanks for the info. Notice you are not in Florida. Do you visit often?

boatmaster, really appreciate the info. Thanks for sharing. BTW do you know how my non-resident fishing buddy can get a license?

Tony,

I guess I'll need a net for bass that big! What a shame. Thanks for sharing. I'll send pictures.

DFS if you can get to a computer that the easiest way or just find you a walmart. Also most any bait shop sells licenses.

Thanks, boatmaster. We'll probably try Walmart for the license when we get into the area. I'm a Florida resident over 65, and I think I'm OK without a license. Is that true?

That's right. Just show your drivers license. That's about the only thing about getting old.

boatmaster53,

Thanks for confirming that. Us seniors do get some perks. Don't know how I could make it without medicare.
