Very proud preacher man came to visit at my parents farm. The preacher was impressed that my dad held a good job as a CPA. My family was always generous. Church leaders frequently stopped around to ask my very religious father for his financial advise and ...of course his financial support. The preacher wouldn’t stop talking about his theological degrees and ministerial certifications. Accreditation’s and accomplishments ....well none of that really impressed my parents. We were taught to judge others by what kind of person you were , not the pieces of paper on the wall. Hard work and honesty were the only criteria. So after about enough of listening to the preachers balogne, my father asked him,” Well, do you have a PhD?”

The preachers face turned red and he replied “ I’m working on my dissertation and ....blah blah blah...”

After a long pause of silence, the preacher man said something more and my father interrupted him and said, “ Well, let’s just agree that I will help you , but first, you go get your PhD and then come back and see me “.

To that the preacher was pissed and he said something more to which my father replied, “ Look, I have held two PHD ‘s for a long time and I’m not really impressed by all of your certificates and degrees and such , so I think it’s time for you to leave. “

As he drove out our farm lane, I knew my dad would not have lied about this, and there was so much about my dad that I didn’t know, so I just sort of sincerely asked, “Dad, do you really have two PhD’s? “

He just smiled.

“But Dad, what field of study? Accounting? Agriculture? Religious studies?”

My dad was a very smart man and he could have held any degree in any field he chose.

He replied
“Son, my PhD ‘s are up there in the barn. “

“ the post hole diggers “

Sebastian FL. Sea, tidal, and freshwater all within casting distance of each other. Year/round.

Ok I’ve convinced myself. Time to quit my job and go for it. Lol. I wish.

Similar to that....

I grew up on a beef farm. Cow calf operation. Lots of bull calves needed castrated. My dad used rubber bands because he didn’t like the blood. The vet showed me how to cut em and I got pretty good at cuttin their sacs open ...so one day my dad and I rounded some calves in a pen and I was getting to work and then dropped my knife in a pile of shit. I had my hands kind of full with the rope and just stuck the knife into the top of a fence post.
There was this fly immediately landed on the post and started sipping his was up the bloody blade and then started scooping up crap all the way up the handle.
It got to the top, jumped off , tried to fly but just sort of spiraled down right into the muddy cow pen

Moral of the story...

Don’t fly off the handle when your full of bullshit.

Slow speeds under bridges.
I once read an article with statistics about lethal boating accidents, and damages to boats in dollar amounts, written from an insurance company’s perspective. In summary, high speeds near bridges and docks kill about half us boaters each year, cause about half the damages to boats. Slow down near docks and bridges.

Well, they had to put something between 39 and 41. They can’t just leave it blank.

It was paid for with a gift cards so didn’t matter the price. The thing worked I guess. It attracted crabs. Didn’t see any real improvement with fish. I lost interest in trying it after a couple nights. It really did attract the baby crabs so I’m sure the little baby crabs possibly attracted fish.
