Too many breakers...

Hello, All...I need to ask you salt water fishermen your opinion on something that's been bothering me: I hang around an area in Old Mexico, in the state of Michoacan, that has an area that is fairly shallow, like a four or five feet deep for a long way. This area has breakers coming in a series of usually four. So, when you're standing, in the shallows, you see this series of breakers coming, with the first line of water breaking, about four hundred yards away from you, and each breaker, is separated by about one hundred yards.
So, where would be the best place to fish? Would the fish be hunting close to shore, or hanging around in calmer water, four hundred yards out?
I appreciate your help.

I like to fish in the break water or just before the wave breaks.

Hoss: I dont know if the fish think, but whether they do or not, they certainly move around, pelagic fish are scouting around for meals, and the others are moving about to avoid becoming a meal, so all are moving in a never ending dance.

In Texas bays, the schools of shrimp are driven to the surface by trout or other fish, and fishermen can spot this activity because they can see the sea gulls working on the shrimp from above. Some fishermen even use binoculars to spot the white flashes of gull wings. I don't know if that happens in Mexico and other places. I hope this helps. Just Sayin..RJS

Hi :)
If it's before dawn or after dusk we would fish closer to the shore. Other then that right behind a breaker,
and in the white water as well.

Very proud preacher man came to visit at my parents farm. The preacher was impressed that my dad held a good job as a CPA. My family was always generous. Church leaders frequently stopped around to ask my very religious father for his financial advise and ...of course his financial support. The preacher wouldn’t stop talking about his theological degrees and ministerial certifications. Accreditation’s and accomplishments ....well none of that really impressed my parents. We were taught to judge others by what kind of person you were , not the pieces of paper on the wall. Hard work and honesty were the only criteria. So after about enough of listening to the preachers balogne, my father asked him,” Well, do you have a PhD?”

The preachers face turned red and he replied “ I’m working on my dissertation and ....blah blah blah...”

After a long pause of silence, the preacher man said something more and my father interrupted him and said, “ Well, let’s just agree that I will help you , but first, you go get your PhD and then come back and see me “.

To that the preacher was pissed and he said something more to which my father replied, “ Look, I have held two PHD ‘s for a long time and I’m not really impressed by all of your certificates and degrees and such , so I think it’s time for you to leave. “

As he drove out our farm lane, I knew my dad would not have lied about this, and there was so much about my dad that I didn’t know, so I just sort of sincerely asked, “Dad, do you really have two PhD’s? “

He just smiled.

“But Dad, what field of study? Accounting? Agriculture? Religious studies?”

My dad was a very smart man and he could have held any degree in any field he chose.

He replied
“Son, my PhD ‘s are up there in the barn. “

“ the post hole diggers “

I shouldn't have said that, Dad started to teach us when we were twelve how to surf fish.
I can't tell you how many ignor us and even worse that I won't mention.

But we have made some very good friends on here. One particularly we
came very close with. Dad passed, this October will be three years. We look
to him for advice on many subjects not just fishing. I guess you can say
we love him :)

How do you plan to fish 400 yards out if you are standing in the shallows?
