Anybody try out the 1634 lumen bright green light they sell at basspro for 150$ bucks?

It seemed like a lot but I had gift cards to burn. Never had an underwater light. Never fished one before. Won’t get a chance to try it for a month. But I am here to say this.

Cujeezimee!!!. It is BRIGHT! I turned it on at my pickup truck, in the daylight, just to see that it worked. Wow it is bright.

They work, but you need to be patient. It takes several hours for these lights to attract fish worth catching. The light initially attracts plankton. Minnows arrive to feed on the plankton. Eventually the minnows attract some fish. The process takes from 2 to 4 hours. Sink it deep, as the light also attracts a tremendous amount of bugs and moths.

Ok.
Go deep.
Wait

So now the challenge will be keeping the 12 v battery charged so the light keeps shining for 4-5 hours

There’s no electric service in my jungle. It’s a camp site dock. Always something. Lol

The good part is that the light utilizes LED technology so the draw is relatively low. Hope you catch a bunch!

Jungle Ranch: From my experience at a beach house on Galveston Bay, you will have the best results if you start at, or near sundown and let the light work from that point on. I never ran a study on the subject but felt that having my lights on early seemed to work better.

My biggest problem was since the bay is subject to tides, the lower level of the water allowed other boats passing by to tear up my lights. After a couple of complete destruction of mine, I gave up on having them repaired...Just Sayin RJS

Ok thanks. Not much traffic by my dock. It’s about 17 ‘ deep about 50 feet out from the dock, in the area the average depth is 8’. A real hole.
Always catch something there, it’s tidal fresh water in rainy season, salt water after prolonged drought.
Just never fished with a green glow light. I hope it’s not illegal. Already bought the light. I’m early to bed and early to rise so I don’t know how many late nights I will try this unless I see some results

We had best results dropping out from boats about 5-6 feet deep and waiting a few hours near side of channel

It was paid for with a gift cards so didn’t matter the price. The thing worked I guess. It attracted crabs. Didn’t see any real improvement with fish. I lost interest in trying it after a couple nights. It really did attract the baby crabs so I’m sure the little baby crabs possibly attracted fish.
