So, I shouldn't start fly fishing
Only if you don't like the taste of fish.
I also would like to hook up with a positive minded fisherperson in the SE Washington area. Salmon, steelhead, cats, smallies, larges, perch, trout, crappie, well I hope you get the idea. Have boat will travel. I'm 60something but willing to listen to any opinions.
I notched my buddy's ear. I was hauling in a stainless steel long line when I rared back for another wynd the flatfish shot out of the water and straight at us, I ducked it and tried to whip it back out but it hooked the top of his ear and then ripped out on the return tug. It w a s a good thing I had the afore thought to stash a medicinal bottle in the cuddy.
I small river bank fish for salmon and steelhead. Wad of eggs under a corkie and a little yarn...fish-on! Love to walk the bank for eddies and tail water. Pure adrenaline!
Next time I recommend going out to a real lake or river, it's much more enjoyable and you can roast a hot dog or s'mores! Make a day of it.ðŸ¤
Bring a 10 ft. piece of 1/2" rope and make a circle around the spot your standing. Snakes won't cross the rope.
There's not as much meat on a deer as one might think. If I were to get my food from mom nature I'd very much vary my diet, fish would be a large part of my menu but don't forget the elk, bear, and game fowl. Your only limited by your skills and determination.
Optima is good battery but the price is prohibitive if you're a payday to payday type fisherperson.
I agree, a couple bucks a trip ain't bad.
Donut fish..donut eat it.
Fillet with an electric knife, it's the safest way. Maybe a pair of chain link gloves to boot.
