Beavers.
I found a new spot the other day and I've been fishing it the past couple of days, last night I was casting pretty late when a group of like 6 beavers rolled up and started hissing and being very aggressive towards me, so I just left.
Do beavers eat largemouth bass? Are they a negative thing for fishing? Do you think they would attack me in a kayak?

Did you see any drums leaking a phosphorescent green ooze into the water?

I got chased by a beaver in our local river, it was fun. I swatted him with my paddle and high tailed it out of there.

Never seen or heard of anything like this. Not sure why they’d be aggressive towards you unless maybe you kicked out their dam.

I was fishing somewhat close to their dam, it looked pretty run down so I was shocked when I saw them all, they were definitely pissed off.

You have to give them a gift of goodwill, they like McDonald’s gift cards. If they accept the gift, pick them up one by one and give them a gentle kiss on the head. Then they’ll let you fish.

I was wade fishing in the James River (Richmond VA) and watched as another fisherman about 150 yards away got attacked repeatedly by a beaver. He was very close to the lodge, and the thing swam up to him and latched onto his Achilles heel. He ended up picking up large river rocks and bashed the things head it. It took me about 15 minutes to get to him (wading in rapids in a big river) but by the time I got to the guy he had killed the thing. His ankle was tore up... I know he got rabies shots for it but I’m not certain the thing had rabies or not. Either way it tainted my view of beavers since then. Pretty sure it was on the local news that night

Beavers eat plants. They are generally beneficial to fishing, as they create ponds where fish tend to congregate. They will attempt to defend their territory from predators.

Brings back some memories, sadly I haven't kissed a beaver in quite some time, but it's great fun and I highly recommend it.
Do beavers eat largemouth bass?
Do Beavers Eat Fish? No. Beavers are vegetarians and eat only leaves, roots, tubers, greens and cambium (or the inside layer of bark). ... People often mistakenly think beavers make ponds to catch fish, (and ponds help fish populations grow enormously), but beavers don't eat them.
Beavers good eating👍high in protein
Don't be so hard on the Beaver, Ward.
Until now I had really never heard of Beavers being hostile.
