Took a week off to unwind and hang out with some family. Headed off to Baum lake/Cassel to do some fishing, good eats/drinks and fresh air. Lake was producing fish but nothing too big. Everyone was catching 10 to 20 fish a day. I ended up bringing 3 home for the smoker, all browns 2 about 3 pounds and 1 just short of 5 pounds. Kids were full of energy and had us out one night at midnight for a few hours to catch crawdads. They thought it was a blast and had them for snacks next night. Weather was on the cooler side 60’s during the day and under 30 in the mornings. This will be last year in a tent just getting to old for it lol.

Nope got nothing on Owens River in 3 different spots, still too swift, most caught that day up the Bishop Creek to Sabrina & Pleasant Valley Res. 4 lb'r out of Lake Sabrina. Yes that was too early and all waited till the normal morning fishing time. Only 100 or so showed up, not the normal 300-400 people. My first time this year & found out how it runs, etc... There are Raffles for Outdoor Gear & 50/50 Food, Soda & Beer, etc... And have lived up here since May 2010, came up here to get away from the crowds of So. Cal. I can fish the Owens River Year-round. Weather Permitting the next one is on March 23, 2024 ONLY at Pleasant Valley Res. & the Owens River again. Will go in 6 months & try, try again. A BAD day fishing is BETTER than a GOOD day working!!!! I'm only 66 and Retired in 1998 at 41. I DID get RIPPED on some DAMN GOOD HASH tho!!!!!! Take nothing but Pictures & Fish, Leave nothing but Footprints and Especially WASTE nothing but your MIND & TIME!!!! What NO emoji with Bong or Joint????? CRAP!!!!
