Nice catching. I like that stretch in Dunsmuir at the park or below. Easy access and such a pretty area.

Most of the Iām catching up here are decent size, 12-15ā , and feisty. A lot of acrobatics. Had one jumped 5 times. Fun !!

Yep, lived in Mt. Shasta City and worked on the 5 between Mt Shasta City and Dunsmuir. Saw a lot of that stretch of river. That and the McCloud River. Sure is beautiful water and country.

I go there enough , itās like my 2nd home. Retiring next august means Iāll up there more often, Canāt Wait!!

So far there has been no fires close by this year, thank god. Oregon got it bad though.
Yeah the train spill was a disaster, but had long since recovered nicely.
They really whacked the no gear restrictions section running thru Dunsmuir. In stead of last Saturday in April to November 15, they restricted it to last Saturday of may to end of September. Cut 2 1/2 months of fishing time. Sucks

That's great. I was up there a few years ago and I remember one of the neighbors complaining about it being almost impossible to get fire insurance on her home. I was on the Sacramento just south of Dunsmuir. They really make hard on folks to fish it. When I was there, since they plant it, the fishing was fine. I pretty much catch and release all trout but that's mostly because my girlfriend doesn't eat much fish!!! LOL!
