I am new to the area and could really use some help. I have so many questions it's difficult to know where to start.

What kinds of fish are available to catch from the shore at John Reginato Sacramento River Access?
And what tackle do I need? Any help will be appreciated.

I’m not familiar with that area but you could probably get good info from a fishing tackle or sporting goods store.

Hi Bernie, I was raised in the old town of whiskey town and later moved to French Gulch and there are a lot of streams in that area. Clear creek at French Gulch is good for trout., Whiskey town lake has a group of different kinds of fish . Just drive 299 out of Redding. I know years ago you had to hide behind a tree to bait your hook so the fish don't see you lol

Trout and steelhead can be caught in that area. Salmon cannot be fished in the river this year fishing from shore is hard, but can be done spinners cast masters. Good luck.
