In some places around lake Michigan (southern end arlin Indiana for sure) they have a season where you can snag salmon (maybe coho) in the rivers. The snagging hooks look like this rig.

I fish out of 14' semi-V and have simple anchor pulley (less than $10 @ Basspro) on bow. It has pulley and then metal eyelet on swivel through which you thread rope. Hold rope at shoulder level to lower anchor and then bring down to seat level once anchor hits bottom. Eyelet locks down on rope and prevents slippage. I fish from back of boat and simply have anchor rope tied off on small cleat i install on back seat. I am 71 years old and easily raise and lower anchor manually from back seat.

I use magnifying glasses that clip onto my regular glasses. they flip up and down so can use only when needed. Come in magnifications from 1.5 to 4+ or more. highly recommend.

We live in Myrtle Beach area but 7 miles from ocean. For us it was almost non-event. lots of rain, but winds not too bad and never lost power. Several beach areas had water come thru dunes with minor flooding, but no really bad property damage that I have heard about.

Not as good for folks in NC where it went ashore and spawned a few tornados.

You can also buy 2 - 3 oz bottles of what is basically a light vaseline. Squirt little on your finger and rub into hackle/body of fly. Works great.

tx 4 reply. would be happy to meet you in Bonneau either Thursday or Friday next week (10th or 12th). I prefer to fish during the week so maybe we can work something out.

Have wanted to check out Lake Moultrie area so this would be good chance to meet you and see the lake. anytime late morning or in the afternoon would work best for me. Let me know if interested.

I am 73, slowing down a bit. I have a brand new Bennington 20' Pontoon boat w/70 hp Yamaha set up for fishing. 3 bait wells, 3 fishing chairs. I lost my fishing buddy recently (no, didn't die, just cant handle the humidity and heat). Wife is not reliable to help launch or fish with. Striper season is upon us, will be doing a lot of trolling. Willing to learn new fishing techniques....(crappie, shallow water, large mouth) Must be able to prove your character before we go out by ourselves. I have all the rods and tackle. Humminbird helix 8.. If you have grand-kids that like to fish they will be welcome. Max five people including me. Help with gas if you can.

I am 70 yr old retiree living near Socastee. I have fished all my life and have small freshwater boat that I have used couple of times on Waccamaw River near Conway.

I could not make it to your "meet & greet" due to prior commitments. If you are still looking for a fishing buddy perhaps we could chat over phone or arrange to meet somewhere to get to know a little more about each other. I can be contacted directly at darl_rhoades@hotmail.com.
