WTH ? I watch all manner of PBS, Discovery Channel, Science Channel, etc. specials, read an inordinate amount of articles on fish and fishing, even had an interterm of college in Florida studying marine biology....... have never seen this fish.
If nobody guesses correctly, I do hope you know, Larry....I am most curious. Beautifully scary beast, huh ?
(and here I thought most of the sci-fi monster-types we see were based on insects and reptiles !)

Larry, I kept looking closer at it and decided it might be a rare fish called the โ€œJoeโ€ fish. What do you think?

Try midshipman fish, caught one in SD bay about 3 years ago. Don't want to lip it.

I have the info.
I screenshot it and will post it.
The head shot reminds of the alien from the movie predator.
