I do remember the Ca. Fish and game did air drops of small native species at high elevation lakes. Probably some of those or their ancesters.

Fishing spots near Groveland
You might want to try the Toulome river (middle fork) where it crosses hiway 120 I believe they are planting now. I have always done well there with rainbow power bait. Don't know how high and fast the water is right now.

Yes,absolutely a pike minnow. Have caught them that Big in the Merced river over the past 40 yrs.

What can I say! I like to fish like you and everyone else here so yesterday my son took me fishing and I paid 58.58 for my one pole liscense! I am 74 and a VietNam vet.I least I didn't get skunked! Caught and released one pan size cat. I was born and raised in Wisc. I think seniors are free there now.

Lots of fishing pressure on that lake. I would call it more of a family type resort and the jet skis and water skiers drive me crazy! Shaver lake would be a better choice for the fisherman.It's not far from there.

Many years ago I would wade along the rivers edge from the bridge on G grade upstream I would catch them on eggs,power bait or even Meps spinners. No fishing there for me right now! That river is a torrent,taking everything along with it!

Backing a boat
Great advice and we'll done instructions. I never backed up a trailer when I didn't get frustrated,especially when the wife was back there guiding me?!Hope this helps!
