I don't eat cats and will defend ANY cats I see being harmed. You do NOT need to eat cats or dogs.

We used to have plenty of quail a we still have a few turkeys still. The quail are gone now and the cats are now working on the turkey nest. Year before last I heard a Bob White calling. It had been several years since I had heard one, so I went looking for this one. I finally found it. It was a mocking bird in a low bush. It must have learned the song from the birds in the flight pins at the Quail hunting preserve down the road from me..

In Australia there was one single cat that sent the ferry tern into extinction, there. That cat belonged to a light house keeper next to there nesting grounds. People from the towns around here bring dogs and cats out here and throw them out with no regards to the damage they do.

When I was with the airlines flew into a place I hadn't been for years. Crew bus was taking us to the hotel & it was snowing & the roads were icy. I made the mistake of asking the driver about a certain restaurant. Her reaction was interesting to say the least. About drove us off the road. Curiosity got the best of me so I asked again first apologizing for upsetting her...Her reply was just as interesting. "The health department closed it down thank God!!!" yelling, while glaring at me in the rear view mirror on this icy road. My flight attendant told me to shut up before she kills us...Still curious I asked, make a long story short it was cat skins in the dumpsters & cats in the freezer. We had an American crew riding with us...one of the flight attendants asked if we ever ate in this one place in ??? then informed us they close it down for the same reason. One of my flight attendants came up with another good restaurant that was closed down for the same reason. All were Chinese restaurants. So being the typical wise a$$ I stated at least we all learn something this evening...one of my flight attendants took the bait & sarcastically ask "what"...I said the secret ingredient to the best egg rolls & fried rice...it's a miracle we are still alive the driver became unglued...I got hit by several of the flight attendants...Was not going to say anything to the wife since she would call me at work to bring home egg rolls & fried rice...She was almost asleep when I got home...one look & she asks what's up...Asked her if she ever ate cat...she goes NO...then looks at me asks "Have I"...things got worse told the kids next morning about the story...got a call from the school telling me our daughters are telling everyone that their dad fed them cats...so my friend you'll never know...
When I was with the airlines flew into a place I h... (show quote)

My wife and I used to have a favorite Chinese restaurant in a town about an hour away from us, but it was worth the trip once in awhile. My wife was on the phone with a friend who lived there. It seems they closed them down because they were serving cat. They were buying cats from the humane shelters in all the surrounding towns. Seems to me that is a better way to control their population, that and fish bait.

They are like tilapia

Tilapia, now there is a fish, in my opinion, that is only fit for fertilizer and animal feed. My neighbor had a bunch of them things in his pond, that a cold spell killed them all. he skimmed them off the top and made good use of them. He fed the yard buzzards (chickens) and wildlife. The fishing in his pond, several years later, is much better. We catch only native fish in his pond now

I fish for carp here, there are many Russians along with other nationalities that fish for them too..Exclusively.

I have offered my catch to these folks, some barely speak English,I do recognize the words "Thank you "

they repeat over and over, with a grin.

I'd never eaten carp and nether had my brother-in-law or his dad, Ted. When they caught them they would take them to town and give them away and the folks were well pleased. We were fishing were fishing below then Bluestone dam, on the New River, and above the Greenbrier River, when I caught two carp. The small one was 15# and the largest was 27#, and ted had caught a 5# Flathead cat. Ted said it was a shame we didn't have enough for a fry. I said we should try a carp, and he let me know he didn't like that idea. I talked him in getting one of the people he gave the fish to, to show him how to prepare it and give him a recipe.

We had a fry that evening, Ted, My brother-in-law, and I were the only ones that knew what the mystery fish was but when everyone was full there was Flathead left, and no carp. After that Ted said the only way he was giving carp away unless he had more than he could use.

Curious if you were feeding the raccoons, skunks, possums, don't think birds since they disappeared over night. Could be wrong definitely wouldn't be the first time & will not be the last. Around here with the coastal crows, herrings, egrets & especially the ospreys any fish left out is fair game. Especially the herrings they will go into the buckets & take out the fish...

Owls have to eat too. I caught one of them things one night, on a Musky jitter bug, fishing for bass. To make this story real short, if it ever happens again, I'll beat the dumb butt to death before I try to get the hooks out and the line unwrapped.

I've seen birds on fish on the real quick after they were put there

If there is one invasive fish in the waters you are fishing there are very likely many others too. To destroy it would not help. But, If left on the bank, a crow or something else would enjoy eating it. I am having problems catching the great american eel in my ponds. I put them on the curb and in a couple of minutes the crows are fighting over them. I hate to catch those slimy things when I am fishing for bream. YETCH!

I had a friend in Niceville, Fl who loved to eat those ells-Yetch!! but I knew better than to catch them and not take them to him. As for the, Mayan cichlid I think they would be good to give them to someone that needs them, or at least would put them to good use.

Dadeaux, I was stationed at Eglin in the 60s caught many Pinfish, and used for bait. We even took them to the Shoal, Black Water, and Yellow Rivers and Bear Lake, and used them for bait for Bass, and catfish. Caught lots of good fish on them things When I got Married we moved to Crestview, and then to Baker. My wife and Idid lots of fishing and coonhunting while we lived out there. We loved the panhandle. We moved to Fort Walton where we ran a riding stable for awhile until I got laid off from my regular job. The last time we were out there it was sure built up. I wish I could get out there to fish again, not much chance of that now.

I know. Some people like it I guess.

Bass, speckled trout, crappie, and a few might be better, but to me carp rank right up there. Trout and salmon will serve as survival food for me. I'll try most any thing once, and after I talked my buddy, in WV, into cooking one up he swore he would only give one up if he had too many for him and his family. He started keeping carp and giving trout away.

Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I don't think I would name it for awhile. I would wait to see if it catches fish, and if it runs o.k.
I haven't seen a Homelite motor for a while. Do you know who made them? It looks like it might have been made by Chrysler. I think this boat might give you something to do during your downtime. Good luck with it, and keep us posted. A tri-hull is pretty rough riding.

When I saw the first picture I thought "Teddy" Rough Riders.

I never used a drift sock, but my understanding of it's use is that, on a windy day, in still water, it is used to slow your drift and help control your boat position. I've used a short piece of chain on a rope to do the same thing in current (river fishing)

My wife doesn't like for me to be obsessed with things like that. She said if I would quit coonhunting I could fish all I wanted to, She Lied!! 4 1/2 years latter, she was begging me to start coonhunting again. I only did that 4 to 6 nights a week.

I can see, Stalker is hooked!! You will be surprised what will catch fish. Caught a bream on a worm once and a bass on the red and white plastic bobber at the same time, more than once.
