I will try to post a picture of my kayak, if I can't it's a Field and Stream Shadow Caster

I love the seat in my Field and Stream kayak. At 6"2 it took a lot of looking to find a good kayak with a seat that is both comfortable and able to be adjusted for storage.

I go walleye fishing in cleveland multiple times a year. It's always a blast no matter what time of year you go. If it's something you are interested in doing then you should definitely treat yourself.

There are lots of great baitcaster combos out there that fit that budget. Me personally, I am a huge Lew's fan and a lot of there combos are $150 or less. You may want to check the out or go to your nearest bait and tackle store. I would highly recommend it but that's just my two cents worth. Good luck on your search and hope to hear what you find.

Ben Bragg. I am also from Ohio. In fact I am only a couple of hours from Dayton in the Findlay area. If your interested in selling some of the stuff you have I would love to hear what you have and make you a reasonable offer. I am always in the market for fishing tackle and rods and reels.

I own 6 Lew's and the Abu Garcia black max and I can tell you that both companies are very good. If you want to dip your toes in the Lew's universe Walmart sells a baitcaster frow Lew's called the XFINITY it retails for around $80. It's a great starter baitcaster and a good lead into other Lew's products.

I have one of the first Abu Garcia reels ever made. It's one of those weird things that has been handed down from family members. Since I am the current member of my family who loves to go fish ( much like my grandpa), I am the one who gets to own it until either my son or if I have a grandchild who loves to fish.

I would keep hammering away with the Dennis. Texas rig and a 1/4 ounce bullet weight works great. Also I would use spinners and jigs with a decent trailer. Good luck

Lots of great combos you can get for that price. I am a fan of Lews and for $130 there are tons of options. But a great one is the mach smash, it preforms really really wall and also looks really good.

I am 6"3 and weigh 280 pounds and I have a shadow caster from field and stream. The weight capacity is 450 pounds and I absolutely love it. It's extremely sturdy with a 35 inch width so even I am able to stand up and fish in it if I want. I am also able to load it down with lots of tackle, 6 rods even a trolling motor and battery if I decide I want to just troll instead of paddle. The best part is that I didn't pay $1000 dollars. My kayak cost me $850 after taxes. Not sure if it's something you want to look into but I just thought I would share my opinion. I can even send a picture of what my kayak looks like all are up so you can see how much you can put on it ( minus my 280 pound body )

I have seen outriggers that people have made for kayaks using pvc pips and pool noodles . There are so lots of websites that may sell specific outriggers for your kayak. They have instructions and YouTube videos on how to make and install them. Not sure if that helps you any.

Bigfish48 welcome to the forum. I couldn't help but notice that you said you live Roseville Michigan, I am only about 2 hours south of you in Ohio. We should get together sometime and do some fishing.

Yeah Drew your right, a post isn't enough for man to speak his dream. I probably should have put an emphasis on it about fishing. But congrats on her walleye! That's an awesome experience when they get so excited about something like catching a fish. It's always worth it to me to see the look in my kids eyes of excitement even if it's something as small as a bluegill.

I believe that weather you are a die hard fisherman or just weekend fisherman, we all have stuff we want. Weather it's a specific rod and reel, boat, or an extravagant fishing trip, or a trip you have been on but want to go back to ,somewhere down the line we have all thought about it. Some of you have retired and gotten to make that dream a reality. Myself being 37 years old, am still chasing the dream. My dream is to own a small cabin in the mountains of Tennessee with a nice boat and kayak ( the kayak is the part of my dream I get to live right now). I would also love to own a Lew's Pro TI combo to join all of my other Lew's combos. So my question to you all is. If money wasn't and issue, what is your dream?
