A Red and White combo will work on most all days both sunny and cloudy rainy days and red and white combo's are a long time favorite and standby. A red and white combo works a lot like gold does because it is great on over cast days and it also works on sunny days but it is mostly used for overcast days but it still work for both,

I was always told that a boat trailer with rollers is bad for a boat because the weight of the boat is all in one place as in where the rollers are. A boat that is on a trailer that uses bunks distributes the weight evenly, and it keeps the boat more stable while on the trailer too.

On the Garmin unit's, look for one of the newer units with the screw in the power cord and not the old style push in cord.

Gamin units bye far are the best units that I have ever found and easy to learn unlike most others.

I agree with Dakoda I find that the Garmin units are the easiest one's to learn and use and anyone of them will do you good.

Shrimp is used in the delta for sturgeon for the most part and not to much for strippers. I always fish shrimp when fishing for sturgeon but not once have I ever cought a Catfish, Black Bass or Carp in the bay on shrimp. Those stripers tend to be fast bait stealers when it comes to shrimp and a better bait for stripers would be shad and they are much cheaper.

Catfish at night clams or chicken liver.

Carp hit almost anything that smells on the bottom of the bay

Black Bass Spinnerbaits and worms

Trout Power Bait

Good luck

What is right for one person might not be right for another. With that being said, when it comes to fishing reels. One of the biggest drawbacks when it comes with spinning reels is that they tend to suffer from line twist and bad line memory. This is because of the way in which the line moves in comparison with the bail. The line has a much higher chance of being twisted up upon casting and retrieval than when using a baitcaster. Due to the way in which the spool sits and the way the line comes off the spool, baitcast reels allow for far casting distances. I would go with a 7 foot casting rig over the 8 foot rig it I where fishing out of a bassboat or small boat and I would only use a longer rod if I was fishing out of a larger boat that sits much higher off the water. If you need more casting distance, better casting accuracy, a faster retrieval rate, more power, and heavier line, then the baitcast reel is the best to go with but I use a small casting reel setup for my kokanee trrolling all the time and I love it.

I see a lot of Stealhead rods in the Med/Light Power Mod-Light Action is this a good setup for a spinning rod used for bobber float fishing or would a Med Power be better.

I have been building my rods for many years and Getbitoutdoors.com comes in as my go-to place to buy my blanks as they have good sale in rod blanks in the $17.00 to the $35.00 range and the shipping is much faster than Mudhole.
