Start with a pinky jig or yellow jig. Fish the eddy’s and fish any pools right after fast water. Cast into the fast water and let the jig go with the current into the pool. You can also try a white mister twister. Just keep it slow. Let the current work the jig. Have fun!

So dont as how, but i managed to snap the top half of my 2 piece Okuma Stratus VI Spinning Rod into about 6 pieces.... Is there any way to purchase just the top half, or should i just buy a new rod?

Side note, the bottom half of the rod is a tank and still in one piece.....

Time to consider a hybrid.... find another with similar action and see if the top will fit yours. Or see if the manufacturer can provide a top.?

I use both. I use the left hand reel on the right side when I troll and the right handed on the left.

Well I finally got my boat back together after replacing the fuel tank all the fuel lines and removing all the carpet and applying a rubber granular paint on the floors. So concerning the help I’m needing I had it in the water yesterday and when I turned on my fish finder everything seemed find. But towards the end of my outing the numbers the indicates the depth started blinking. And now that’s all it does. The temp and speed numbers seem to be ok. And it’s showing 60’ sitting in my yard. (blinking) It’s the Lowrance Elite-5. This is something out of my wheel house. When it comes to electronics I’m about as smart as a rock…😜have any of you had a similar problem with your FF…🐟o

I have a bird and it warns against dry running your transducer, could damage them. Otherwise I would double check your battery connections. That’s all I can offer. Good luck and let us know what happens.

I'm trying to decide if I want to equip my new boat with lithium batteries. Duties include the trolling motor, Garmin Livescope, 2 displays, traditional boat electronics including music for when we are just out playing, and of course starting the "big engine".

Here are my thoughts so far;

They have longer life. They are A LOT more expensive. They are lighter weight (if that matters). They charge quicker. They don't seem to have the gradually declining charge that traditional lead and acid batteries do. They seem to go from "just fine" to "dead" quickly.

I would like to hear your input.

They are newer technology and they have their good points. But they do not like water, and when they fail, it’s like a rocket going off. As an electrician, I chose not to use lithium batteries, I chose Gels.

In the past I would get it on a rough lake even when I medicated. Starts out feeling funky, then you toss your cookies and you think I can handle it. Then after several more gut wrenching episodes, you end up in a fetal position on the floor.
So prevention if possible is the key. Never go below deck. Be careful where you sit. Stay center or at the back where motion might be a little less.
Just heard about a device you wear on your wrist that supposed to stop all nausea, not just from sea sickness. Costs $200 but it might be worth It if it works.

Found this in an old tackle box. It is obviously fishing tackle, but I have no Idea what it is.

Looks like an older version of a bottom bouncer

I just turned 80 and sold my 2012 Bass Tracker Pro 165 2 years ago . I only used it maybe 5 times then I had major back surgery. It took me awhile before I was able to try and take it fishing again, believe me it wasn't easy. I tried again about 4 more times and on that 4th,time I was on a lake where only electric trolling motors were allowed, as I was coming in to run up on the trailer I forgot to raise the trolling motor an I ran into the back of the trailer frame and wound up with the shaft of the trolling motor on the inside of the trailer frame. Now here I am just my wife an myself at the launch area, and she years older than me and of little help. Well after some time later I managed to get the boat on the trailer and get it home into the garage were it sat until I sold it while holding back my tears. Well lets get back to my subject "how old is to old?" I've been thinking about getting a kayak ! I'd like to see how many yea's or nay's I get,-----Thanks for putting up with my tale.

When you stop breathing you can stop fishing. I take my dad, he’s 90. Find a younger friend that has a boat and go! A couple of times a year get a guide and have at it! Fill yer boots friend!
