When will Crappy start spawning in Percy Priest Lake ?

Fishing has been somewhat good now using minnows on white and chartreuse colored jigs. The hottest fishing I’ve found is in the middle of March going into last of April. Also use plain old minnows on hook and slip bobber. Go around all the stacked areas that TWRA has set up! Hope this helps you.

Funny ones!

That first snapshot reminds me of something that happened early this week out on Saginaw Bay Michigan (Lake Huron) with a large group of ice fisherman. I'm getting this second hand, but as it often happens out there, a huge slab of ice sheared off and folks that were well beyond a point of knowing what happened made the discovery once they started to head back to shore.

Rescue services from all over Michigan participated in getting people to safety via choppers and airboats. I'm not sure, but I think they end up leaving all of their equipment on the ice...only passengers get brought back.

You are correct. It broke off and free floated for quite a distance!! The Coast Guard and DNR picked them up “but” will not take their fishing equipment with them!!! A lot of good equipment floating around the Bay!!!!🤣

sounds like a good boat I have a 16' smokercraft tracer with full windshield and canopy with side plastic for cold and rainy days. while I really like it my only regret is that I didn't get an 18' with a 90hp.

I’m lucky she’s saying yes to 16.9 feet!!!😂🤣 The main boat is must bigger…..but it’s a “Party Barge”!!! This is the “Family Boat” that she has always wanted !!! Hard to fish shore lines and transport!!

Well Cougar, there ya go.
I'm not personally familiar with them so I would probly go with a Tracker or Lund for my next boat.
I need an 18 footer with the windshield though. Preferably a 90HP 4stroke.

It has a windshield…but an 18 footer would be too large for mama and myself to handle!! It has a 60HP 4 stroke Mercury. Thank you Saw.

My lovely wife has finally relented and has allowed me to purchase a new boat!!! I’m looking at a Lowe Fishing Machine 1675 SC. I was wondering from you guys what you think of this boat…pro or con. We only need it for my wife and myself. We fish on Percy Priest in Tennessee and lakes in Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We don’t fish massively, large lakes but who knows?? It’s 16.9 ft. long/60 hp. Mercury motor with 55 lb. Minnkota electric motor. I’ve decided to have 14 inch tires rather than the 13 inch tires that would come with it. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet but would love to hear what you Stagers think about this boat!! There are other things I’ve add but this is getting long already!!Thank you guys in advance. Cougar

We are so sad to share that our beloved Dad and Grandpa, Jim Cagle , passed peacefully on January 3rd. He just spent a wonderful holiday weekend with family and friends and we are so thankful he got to be with all 5 Grandkids and my brother, Patrick, and I. He was doing well and prepared a prime rib, his famous smoked ribs and cookies & candy for our holiday celebrations. We are thankful that he passed in his sleep and didn’t suffer. He was 85 years old and was loved by so many people. His priorities were his family, fishing and volunteering with Scouts. He was a volunteer in the 70/80’s and again when my boys started in Cub Scouts for the last 16 years. He helped countless kids and families as a leader. His career was as a typewriter repairman and he could fix anything. He loved teaching people to fish and was an official Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife volunteer. He was presented with the Greenwood District Award of Merit for all his work with Scouts. Having he and my mom live 10 minutes away was such a blessing. He was always there to help out when I put on events at the elementary school. His grandkids were blessed to have him as such an important part of their lives. We will all miss him greatly. There will be a Celebration of Life on January 14th, 1pm to 4pm at Son Rise Chapel at 90980 River Road.

Beautiful system you have there!!! The TVA has made a lot of enemies throughout Tennessee for their arrogance to listen or up grade their systems. Again it’s not the working man’s fault for low lake water levels or screwed up energy grids!!! My wife works in the Utility and Coal Industry. She sees it first handed how they have destroyed these fine people’s lives and jobs!!! Again we need “ALL” the above!! Not, turn it off and go Green without a plan!!! That my friends is true Stupidity!!! Work together-not divide and conquer !!!
